"Good location for walking into Matlock Bath, 20 minute easy flat walk. Hotel has an on site Indian restaurant and bar but we weren’t aware so didn’t eat there as we had booked somewhere in town. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking was good on hotel premises. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment. It’s not luxury but a good hotel in a good location with parking which is difficult to find in the area."

"On our arrival we were met by the delightful owner who made us feel very welcome. She was also a source of information which proved extremely beneficial. Our room was part of the converted stable block which was fine apart from the small windows which made the room dark and claustrophobic. Had we stayed longer then I would of asked to be moved. "The Property was modern and clean, and when we booked, we knew it was a country hotel. The grounds looked lovely and well maintained, but due to the weather, we didn't get to enjoy a walk around them. "We welcomed the useful car park with my daughter’s pending wedding and ease of access to town. Room was clean but very hot although fan was provided but noisy overnight and didn’t rotate & only one window opened - Despite this and noisy guests in proximity - everything else was good. Breakfast and staff were helpful and especially at breakfast the staff member was pleasant and I noted took time to talk to guests and was very amenable. The plastic trim around the shower base had a large hole, leaving sharp edges exposed, so you had to be careful not to catch your toes. The light above the mirror also had a bulb out. "Unfortunately I was disappointed at our stay in Matlock Bath. On arrival we could not get access to the place until a lady came from another building to let us in. Since the beginning of August we were told by visiting member of a team that there is no staff on sight and an email was sent in the morning to my home with a code to get access to the building and get a key for our room. No good when we needed to leave early as travelling from afar. This lovely old building in the perfect position...
