"We arrived later in the evening for our stay. We were greeted by two staff members at the front desk and welcomed. The hotel was lovely and quaint. We had such an amazing stay. The room was very comfortable. Even though I was concerned about sounds from the hallway and the train whistles, we rarely heard any ambient noises. It was a magical place to stay. We loved the train decorations, especially my daughter who loved the green lanterns used by past generations of train lines. This is an...

"Great service!"

"Tile was falling off the walls, the bed sagged in the middle and needs to be replaced, the breakfast was terrible."

"Very friendly staff during check in, clean room, comfortable beds. The only thing that may be an issue for people is that the curtains are only sheers and the room wasn't completely dark at night. They should consider getting some regular curtains to cover the sheers"

"We loved the view, overlooking the lake and watching the moon and sun rise each day. It's the best part about renting a cabin at the state park instead of a hotel in town. However, there are no "amenities" which are usually helpful in a hotel stay. Last time we stayed here our cabin had a kitchen. We expected the same this time, but there was no kitchen-Not even a small refrigerator or microwave as hotel rooms usually have. There was a coffee pot, but no filters. The bathroom shower...

"Great place to spend time with friends. The living room seating arrangement was perfect for catching up. Very clean and linens were nice. The only down side to the property was a lot of light from outside lights came in through doors and windows. So if you need a dark room for sleeping, bring eye masks! Mexican restaurant next door was very good."

"Very cute and cozy place! The bed was comfortable and it was very quiet and relaxing. I didn't realize there was not a TV (that was my own fault for assuming) but there is Wi-Fi so I had audio books and Netflix on my phone that worked just the same. I was traveling for work and will definitely stay here again if I am in town."

"Erica is a very good manager. There was a problem with the bed and she had it replaced. She is always helpful and easy to reach. We have stayed in the Blue Cottage four times now. It will always be our go-to place for future trips to Kirksville, MO"

"Great place very quiet and secluded."

"Nice location. We were there for all the flea markets and country store shopping. House was cozy."

"Great building for our family reunion. We had 5 families that ranged from 1 to over 70. Everyone had a great time. Plenty of space to play and to get away from family members. Plenty of outdoor games provided. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and utensils for all. Plenty of indoor seating. We didn’t need a TV but there is no TV. Wi-Fi worked great. Not too far from Kirksville to be able to visit the city swimming pool, Walmart, or any other quick food options. House was...

"Quiet and very well kept."

"Clean house with character! Pictures. Don't quite do it justice. Very cute and comfy! Highly recommend!"
