  • Located in the Penthouse building, this is a 1 Bedroom and 1 Bath ground floor unit. Unit is airy and full of wonderful comfort! Patio opens up to the courtyard and pool area. This unit is located just steps away from the bbq grills, game room, laundry room and pool! Just a short 75 yard walk to the beach through a manicured courtyard and your toes will be in the sand. This unit features a queen size bed in the bedroom. Sofa is a queen size sleeper sofa. Kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and appliances. This unit will sleep 4 people. Flat screen TV. Non Smoking

    Beach Service – If you didn’t pre-reserve beach chairs, just stop by the beach hut or call the Excel team at In addition to chairs and umbrellas, Excel offers kayaks and paddle boards for rent, as well as an assortment of snacks and drinks.
    Tennis, Basketball, Pickleball, and Shuffleboard – Forget your gear? No worries, you can check out rackets, balls, and more at the front desk at no charge!
    Grilling Out – In the busy months of spring and summer, many families opt to grill out rather than go out. We have eight charcoal grills available. There are several seafood markets nearby, including Blalock’s which is just a block to the west (p.s., their tuna dip is a must try!).
    Fitness Center – Did you know we have a fitness center in the Penthouse building? Just stop by the front desk to borrow the key.
    Family Activities – There’s always something fun on the itinerary at Silver Dunes:
    • Annual Easter Egg Hunt in the Courtyard – Easter Sunday, 9 am in the courtyard
    • Scavenger Hunts – Throughout the Spring – for children of all ages! Just stop by the office to pick up your scavenger hunt necessities. Once you’ve collected everything, stop back by the office to pick a surprise from the Silver Dunes treasure chest!
    • Movies in the Courtyard – Bring a picnic blanket, your beach chairs, and join us on Mondays at dusk throughout June and July. We show a different family-friendly movie each week.
    • S’mores Nights with Live Music at the Pool –Wednesday nights are awesome at Silver Dunes! Throughout June and July, the firepits will be out, s’mores roasting, and tunes playing!

Vacation with grandsons!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you are a couple with a small child, most of this condo is very convenient because you are on the bottom floor. Because it is small in size the table that was put in was a bit high even for a short person a child couldn’t have sat at it. If a smaller table could be placed in it would, be better. You are right near the pool only a few steps away. Maybe some updated decorations would be nice. Other than that it was comfy.

Property is perfectly placed along the gulf, staff is extremely, attentive, warm, and friendly, location is prime. Perfect for our current vacation needs

Excellent!

Silver dunes was very quiet and family friendly! Perfect for the relaxing getaway. We had an issue with the AC and called the office. They had a maintenance person there in less than a minute and they had it fixed within an hour!

Bad Unit 7 Do not rent

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We told the rental management that UNIT 7 was awful and should not be rented. There was no lighting in the kitchen. I had to cook with the microwave open for lighting. The last big complaint is the shower was backing up with brown water. I own a home and know that didn’t start with us. When the guy left there was brown stain in the shower.The home was not clean and especially not to perfection like Silver Dunes Standards. After all the complaints, to the rental management they bottom line said did you read the reviews? My entire family has stayed at Silver Dunes for at least 30 years and have never had to read “Reviews” on a Unit. It has always been great.

Crumbs in pull out sofa and floors were a little dirty but the girls said pull out was comfy. That's a HUGE :-). nice amenities. unit is close to pool without all the noise of pool. location is right by the office and breezeway from parking lot to the property. Excellent setup on the beach. George was great.

Reviewer Comments: The complaint I have for unit 7 was it smelled of smoke the first day. There was cigarette and cigar buds on the back porch slab. Also, I would suggest painting the walls and replacing the mattress. Personally it felt like I stayed in a cheap hotel all week. Enjoyed the facility overall, but will never stay in unit 7 again.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: At arrival we did not have access codes or any other info. It was a mix up with emails, but the security guards there are amazing. Helped us every bit of the way and very fun to converse with. When we got into the room it was found dirty. Garbage and old food under couch, bed and coffee table. We only had 2 towels with three people staying there. The water pressure in shower was terrible! Sofa bed not comfortable very wavy and weak. We also did know about beach chair rentals and rudely got kicked out of them by the beach chair guys. We would have left the first night but everywhere was 100% booked.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had fun with our friends on the beach just chilling. I have been many times over the years with friends. Although this time down I felt unit 7 could use a lot of up dates. The bed was hard as a rock, you couldn't open the sliding door it was very difficult. The stove must be 100 yrs old. Never seen a dishwasher like that. Very noisy air condition. Cobwebs I just felt it was dirty. Maybe just me, everything was just a bit out dated. I love the beach outside was very clean. Staff was great along with George and the security was great. For the price I'm just saying, I'm just be honest and I believe that's what you want right. We will probably be back but not in that unit.
