sea horse, destiny by the sea

House is a wreck. termites, non functioning appliances, leaks, sporadic wifi, broken chairs, broken pool equipment, water leaks, mustiness, struggling a/c units.. woke up every morning to a pile of termites and dead bugs on the floor by the dining room table. grill would not light, stove has non functioning burners, hood and hood light do not work, there is a water leak on the stove hood from outside wall, toaster missing knobs, main refridergator has broken shelves, microwave had broken dish/plate, and the freezer had no shelves. Chairs were broken, foosball table was broken, pool equipment would not turn on hot tub or any other functions, a/c barely cooled upstairs, and dryer would not dry no matter size pf the load and how many times we cleaned the dryer vent. homeowners are clearly not taking care of this house. stay away.

Destin Vacation

The location and the house were beautiful. The house had a flea problem that got corrected, but not before my guest got bit repeatedly. I thought some sort of adjustment should have been offered.

Likely to return

Perfect house for our group of 5 adults and 6 Young children. Beach was closer than expected (30 sec walk to beach access). Having a garage to leave beach supplies in really helped control sand in the home. Beautiful grounds in the entire neighborhood and high security presence made for quiet evening to enjoy the sound of the waves.

Beautiful secluded getaway

The house was perfect for our amount in our family, but most of all it was easy access to the beach and not a long walk on the beach to get your perfect spot. The elevator was a positive because of the amount of luggage you bring on vacation.

Bad eperiemce

We loved the house and location. However the security guard on duty thought we could get teenagers to bed at 10pm every night. We were loud 1 night and I fully expected a fine. But to be handed/charged A different amount than what was listed was an unpleasant Surprise. It specifically says if the Sheriff is called it’s a higher fine, and that did not happen. Basically the property needs to specify if this particular guard is on duty its lights out at 10. He starts making rounds about 9:45 to inform you lights out in 15 minutes. He was shining a flashlight in the windows of blinds left open if you were up. We have teenage girls so they were creeped out by it. Not saying he was a stalker but it was weird. He made it very clear they do not like renters in the area. He said that to us multiple times. I told him I don’t think the people renting their houses agreed, but maybe the HOA should vote on it. He gave out several fines that night and my understanding is that other rental agency got them out of the fine completely. Not sure why we got charged. Also, no food or beverages in pool area. I understand glass bottles etc but I actually had a yeti cup w water in it. Same guard informed me not allowed. And , we were only ones in pool. 4 people! Just a rude unhappy man. Anyway, we would not stay in this area again Bc of him. We will not be going to bed at 10pm for several more years. And I’m not sure I would book through My Vacation Haven again because this is my only experience with them.

Wonderful! Stayed May 30-June 6 2020

When we arrived at Ocean Villa we were pleasantly surprised. The house was immaculately clean and very spacious. There was 12 of us staying in the house 6 teenagers and 6 adults and plenty of room. On the top floor there is now a queen trundle bed (on description is says 2 twins). The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook. And there is plenty of drawer and pantry space for groceries. There is a Mr Coffee standard coffee maker and Keurig too. There is also an extra refrigerator in the garage for overflow. Plus the ice maker in the kitchen was nice for icing up our coolers. They also provided plenty of bath and kitchen towels too. LOCATION!!! You are literally about 50 steps away from beach. The the beach is wonderful, well kept and private. I would suggest renting chairs and umbrella for the week though. There are some in garage but if you have a full house it is nice to have the rented chairs and umbrellas. The water was clear..some seaweed but didn’t hinder a good swim by everyone. Beach toys...there are so many! You will not need to buy any. There are buckets for little kids and so many boogie boards and rafts...enough for the whole house. Don’t forget to bring frisbees, footballs and KanJam from home. We had some minor issues (dishwasher broken, refrigerator handle loose) but My Vacation sent someone over right away to fix our issues. All in all we had a wonderful trip. And after renting about 6 houses in Destin through the years this was by far our favorite! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. And thank you for sharing Ocean Villa with us!

Last Minute Spring Break Trip

My family and I are regular Destin FL travelers and this year was by far the best experience we had through staying at this location! We highly recommend to any family looking for a safe, clean and fun rental to stay here.

Great Stay

Beautiful house with all we needed. Very comfortable and nice furnishings. Big enough for our group of 12 adults and kids. Pool was very close and beach a very short walk. Neighborhood and private beach was great.

Excellent location and beautifully spacious home!

We have stayed in Destin many times, and this was, by far, our favorite place! The location couldn’t be better, and the house is spacious enough for a large crowd to have their own privacy when wanted.

First class property

We have rented several different homes in Destiny over the years but this one stood above the rest. Great floor plan for our family. Steps from the beach. House was in tip top shape. We want to buy the place
