The home was built as a hunting lodge that was turned into a duplex. You have access to the whole house and can separate the units if need with a hotel door in the bedroom upstairs. Great Vacation Experience

The property is well maintained and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of room for our family of 13. Lots of beds and bathrooms for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked and love having 2 kitchens. All the boats for us to use was also a plus. The beach area for the little kids was ideal. We all had a wonderful experience and would gladly rent again.

The perfect place for a large group!

We had a large group of friends stay with us at this property and everyone had nothing but great things to say!! Kelsey was so responsive with directions and any questions I had. The rooms were all clean and so spacious. They had everything you could need. The property is BEAUTIFUL. Waking up to the view of the lake from either deck was stunning. We’re already looking forward to planning our next friend reunion at this location!!

Gull Lake golf trip

We spent 3 nights here during our annual fall golf trip. Great location in a wooded area with a view of a lake and plenty of outdoor seating since we spent every night around a campfire. Perfect for us and we plan on coming back!

Awesome Lake House

This is one of the few places I've stayed where I felt like the people have their stuff together. They put care into making it a good experience between having life jackets for the little ones, bug spray, ready to go firewood, all the paddle boats/kayaks working with equipment for everyone. We didn't need much help outside of the pontoon rental, had a friendly atmosphere with a great view at sunrise! Perfect place for a larger family to have a weekend away. Pictures don't do it justice, loved every minute here.

Great visit

Really enjoyed our stay at this 2-houses-combined in a maze of rooms and stairs. Great birding, kayaking and hiking. Advice to future renters would be to bring spices and any other unique kitchen equipment you may need. Lodge is well equipped with basics. Plenty of firewood and chairs and kayaks to enjoy. We didn’t rent the pontoon boat but it looks comfortable. We swam across the lake and it’s wonderful.

Wonderful lake house!!

Our stay was great!! The house was clean, plenty of space, bedrooms, bathrooms etc. the kitchen was well equipped. The water front and all the kayaks, paddle boats and now the new pontoon boat was extra nice. The owners were very helpful and attentive to all questions.

Fabulous Memorial Day Weekend with 5 Families

We had a wonderful time at this rental home over the Memorial Day weekend. It was spacious enough to easily host 16 of us. Beds were comfortable, there was plenty of space for relaxing and meals, and the kitchen was easy to prepare meals in. The easy lake access meant we were in the water all weekend. The lake is relatively small but very nice. It is shallow so water was warm even in late May. It was a bonus that kayaks were provided though we also brought our own. There was a fire pit with provided wood. The property feels very pleasantly secluded and private. Communication with the owner was easy and she promptly responded to the few questions we had and promptly resolved all issues. There were plenty of pots for cooking in and an enormous propane grill (propane provided), I would recommend bringing with you any specific baking pans if planning specific meal like a casserole/lasagne. Also, do bring bath soap and shampoo/conditioner — hand soap and dish soap are provided. We would certainly stay again!

Beautiful Place!

It was blessed to use this property to host a fall retreat with a bunch of my friends from my Bible city group. Definitely enjoyed the scenery around in the woods and all the accommodations met our needs as far as space and comfort are concerned. Definitely recommend this place during the Spring or fall even though I'm sure summer guests will absolutely love this place as well! Thanks Kelsey!

Family Labor Day

The property was beautiful and peaceful. The children loved the little beach and fishing off the dock. The adults enjoyed the fire pit and view of the water from the back yard. The number of bedrooms and bathrooms worked out great for a group of our size.

Best family spot

We have always canoed and camped for our family trip, as the older group of siblings ages that gets much harder. This was the best decision. Plenty of space to hang out, lake was quiet and very nice. Lots of living areas for relaxing. We sat the whole group of 16 in the dinning room. Grill is huge. The description does not do it justice. The main house is 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, connected via a wall that turns into a door, to the over the garage 3 bedrooms 2 bath full house. So great for seperate areas if not every meal is a group meal. this was very convenient for a large group with people different ages headed to bed at different times. Fire wood provided and lots of seating outside. The boat ramp was a huge plus. We also rented a pontoon and it just made the trip! Thanks for letting us stay. This is a cabin in the woods, so if you are looking for granite this is not it. If your family loves the outdoors and a private spot to be together, play frisbee, cornhole, sit by the fire, enjoy the sunset. This is the best place. Dogs not allowed, or we would book this for the next 5 summers right now. The host was great and response time was less then 2 mins.

Great spot!

This was a remote, rustic, relaxing spot! It was perfect for our large family! There was 18 of us and there was plenty of room/seating! The property manager was very responsive and helpful! This place was well prepared for a large group. Plenty of kitchenware, bedding, towels etc. There was a large 2 tank propane grill outside with extra propane. This made dinners more smooth for our big crew! It was so fun! There was a small swim spot for the kiddos, plenty of fishing spots and a large fire pit that we sat around each night! I love that the firewood was included! There was peddle boats provided as well. This was a mellow lake for perfect for paddle boarding. I would recommend this place! Great size cabin in the woods for large groups!

Not what I expected

Condition of roads to get to house needs to be in listing. Beautiful location but dirt roads & secluded needs to be included. Told us they were changing our check out time (on our check in day) because they had more people coming in same day we were leaving. Same time told us water softner not working-never fixed. Multiple locks not working. House not secure. Had young grandchildren with me, I was told they knew about lock & I should push a piece of furniture in front of doors. My sons were able work on locks (3) to 'permanently' lock them. So many electrical violations in house it's ridiculous. They range from uncovered switches & outlets, to bare wires & burn marks in some outlets. There are also doors that don't close, & CO2 detectors & smoke detectors that are not properly placed (like behind doors that are permanently open). My granddaughter unplugged her charger & sparks flew out of outlet. My son was shocked by bare wires on a light inside the pantry. I was told 4 days into our stay, that house used to be a hunting lodge. That is no excuse for all the 'problems' this house has. Whoever is/was doing renovations obviously has no idea about codes, electrical or otherwise. Sign on large stove in kitchen that said do not use due to safety concerns. Also sign on 1 tub upstairs that said do not use due to leaking. Really! I will be filing a grievance with the state inspector. I'm hoping that no other families are subjected to the hazzards that this house holds.

Birthday Getaway

I’ve used VRBO several times and this is by far my best experience. Kelsey was very communicative about amenities, location, passwords and everything needed. I mentioned it was for my brothers birthday and we would be watching NCAA basketball games and they downloaded the app needed on the TVs to watch for us! All new appliances, fireplace on both levels. 100% looking to go back during warmer months to enjoy the lake. Thank you so much for such a amazing place for this great weekend!
