Darnley Farmhouse Retreat

Peace, tranquility and stylish island living! Come and enjoy this stunning, charming farmhouse located on a completely private lane at the waters edge in beautiful Darnley, PEI. Wake up to breathtaking panoramic South West views from your bedroom, dining room, and outside on the wrap around deck. Prepare your meals in the newly renovated kitchen, with stainless steel appliances. Take a bath in the clawfoot soaker tub with ocean views or rinse off in the newly-built outdoor shower after a day at a nearby beach. The farmhouse is tastefully furnished and boasts quality linens and bedding. Dine inside or outside on the picnic tables, or enjoy an outdoor campfire around the fire pit. Bring your canoe/kayak and launch into the water directly from the property. Let the kids run around on the spacious front lawn. Grab the binoculars and watch the birds and foxes while enjoying a glass of wine on the patio. Cozy up in front of the gas fireplace in the living room. The Farmhouse is ideal for a PEI vacation, as it is located on the desirable North Shore with 4 beautiful beaches within a 5-10 minutes drive, and less than 15km to the restaurants, shops and services of Kensington. There are some great dining options nearby, including a 5 min walk to pick up fresh seafood for dinner. Come and enjoy this incredible, unique property and you may never want to leave the island.

This place was absolutely lovely! Decorated beautifully, furniture was comfortable, great view, and a porch that cannot be beat. The kitchen had everything you need if you plan to cook during your time here. Highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful place to relax during down time on your holiday.

My daughters and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful place to stay. Toby’s place was immaculate and well stocked with everything we could have needed. Great location, private and beautiful surroundings. A great place to relax and recharge.

Lovely quiet farmhouse

The property was just as described. It is a cute traditional farmhouse. The beds were comfortable. The showers were great. The new outdoor shower was a dream. Plenty of cooking supplies. Things to note. All bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. One full bath on 1st floor and 1 on 2nd floor. No AC -but even on the hottest day (90 degrees - 32 Celsius) the breeze through the windows was great and there were small fans by every bed. No problems. We really loved the house and we were very sorry to go.

Peaceful coastal farm house

This property is peaceful and beautiful and has a perfectly cohesive antique coastal farm house design. My group ended up spending half of our vacation days at the house because was too beautiful to just sleep there and be gone all day. The host was thoughtful and answered all of my questions while we stayed. The water view and lupine - lined red dirt lane are dreamy to say the least. Coffee on the porch and camp fires at night. If ever I have the chance to come back to PEI, I will be staying here again. My sister insisted that I mention the antique furniture and mirrors. We all appreciated the attention to detail that went into the styling of the rooms.

Peaceful Getaway!

My husband and I had a lovely relaxing stay. The view over the bay was pretty and there was a constant breeze which was welcome. Lots of windows with great views from all. Kitchen was well stocked. Toby was a great host and promptly had someone drop-off or help with anything that came up. Nice, quiet and relaxing :)

A little piece of paradise

Our family enjoyed every moment at the Farmhouse! The hosts have put so much thought into the whole guest experience. The attention to detail does not go unnoticed, like the unique farmhouse decor, artwork, comfortable couch for watching movies, and the cozy linens and fluffy towels. We enjoyed having our coffee on the porch, playing board games and working on a puzzle. The outdoor shower was great to have after our trips to Thundercove Beach. The kitchen was well equipped, and the fridge was stocked with beer and cold water for our arrival. Toby also offered excellent suggestions of places to visit and local restaurants. Go ahead and pick the wildflowers, soak in the claw foot tub and live your best cottage-core life at the Darnley Farmhouse!

Our Second Stay

We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed at the Darnley Farmhouse in 2018 and were very excited to visit again. It is exactly how it is described. We loved watching fisherman in the basin, having a fire in the firepit and visiting the near by seafood market. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic Private Stay

Beautiful house down a secluded laneway. Huge lawn, furnishings with loads of character, and beautiful view off the spacious back deck. Great spot for hosting outdoor dinners with friends. Close to some great beaches and even better seafood markets. Highly recommend it!

Beautiful property!

This property is in such a beautiful location! There are lots of options of things to do nearby - beaches, Kensington, Summerside, PEI National Park, trails, Beach Goats! Lots of natural light and fresh breeze. Toby was so great to work with. I would definitely recommend for a family vacation.

Lovely property, highly recommend.

This is a gorgeous house and property, full of quality details. The welcome package was very thoughtful, the pillows and bedding were fantastic. The attention to design throughout the house was unexpected and thoroughly enjoyable. Don’t skip a soak in the claw foot tub! The views were great, as was the proximity to the Ship to Shore restaurant - easily walkable. We were a bit late in the season, so not all restaurants were open but we managed to easily fill our days - a great trip overall.

Our stay here was everywhere we could have hoped for. The house was immaculate and the amenities plentiful. They even provided wrapped bars of soap in the bathroom! The house is at the end of a private lane and the view is nothing short of spectacular. The house and property are just simply lovely and we are so happy we found this gem for our PEI vacation

Unforgettable Stay

We stayed at the Darnley Farmhouse for a week in July and it was nothing short of amazing. The house was perfect for our family, and immediately felt like home to us for the 7 days. It was cozy, clean and had everything that we required for our stay. The covered deck was the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee, and the spacious yard provided endless entertainment for my two small children. Toby was very quick to answer any questions I had and was very accommodating! I miss the farmhouse already!

We Can't Wait to Return

I’ve stayed with my family in nearly a dozen vacation rentals over the years, and the Darnley Farmhouse is easily our favourite. How could you not enjoy being greeted by yellow warblers and terns as you enter the lane, and basking in the gorgeous sunsets along the Darnley River at night? My kids loved playing tag and capture the flag in the spacious yard, and my wife and I loved being within ten minutes of world class beaches and cycling routes. The home itself also surpassed all of our expectations. Rustic but modern, it perfectly blends convenience with downhome charm. We especially liked the large kitchen and the deck, both of which were perfect for our family meals. We can’t wait to return again next summer!
