Guèiser Monument

Hotel was nice but unfortunately the pool and spa was closed. I had book this hotel because I plan to use the pool and hot tub after hiking. I did ask for a reimbursement but main help desk said it was out of their control

The Alpine House is an inn more evocative of a comfortable bed and breakfast than a hotel. Our room was comfortable and quiet. As most guests arrive by car, ample, free parking is a huge plus and its proximity to downtown makes walking to shops and restaurants a huge plus. Breakfast choices were delicious, served daily and in addition to traditional breakfast options cooked to your order, included a buffet of ready to eat items and a charcuterie selection. Coffee, tea and other beverages were always available in the lobby. Enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine in the comfortable lobby sitting areas or lovely covered outdoor porch. The staff was delightful, helpful and always greeted you with a smile. Fresh towels were provided daily in our charming and cozy room. Bathroom, while small with only a single sink vanity and not much counter space to speak of, offered instant hot water and a fabulous shower with plenty of water pressure. Low lighting was offset by the lighted makeup mirror we found under the sink. Honestly, the only negative we could find was the lighting in the rooms was dismal (2 low wattage wall sconces and 1 tiny low wattage nightstand lamp all on one wall) not sufficient for reading, even during the day, and the room lacked a comfortable chair for doing so if one desired. While low lighting does indeed create a warm ambiance, we found it insufficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay and would definitely return for another visit.
