Kingfisher is located on the Portnellan Estate and offers tasteful 5 star self catering accommodation sleeping up to 4 people within 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and open plan living, dining and kitchen area.

Situated in the heart of the central Highlands of Scotland with spectacular loch, glen and mountain views all around Kingfisher's setting is magnificent where a true highland landscape awaits you and it is often complimented on the abundance of bird and wild life that can be regularly seen. It is not unusual to see the deer meandering off the hill and passing nearby the property.


The Portnellan Estate has been privately owned by the same family for nearly 40 years and offers fantastic facilities including fresh run wild salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river, mountain bikes with plenty of trails on and off road for all abilities, a games room with table tennis, table football, pool table and a small gym. Canadian canoes, kayaks and rowing boats are free to use on the river and loch. Clay pigeon shooting can also be arranged.

Raven comprises of 2 bedrooms. The master king size double bedroom has a newly refurbished, fully tiled, 4 piece shower room. The second bathroom serving the twin bedroom has a full size bath with overhead power shower.

The open plan living and dining area with modern furnishings leads onto a large decking with garden furniture and a WEBER BBQ (supplied free upon request). Perfect for enjoying what can only be explained as one of the most magnificent views you will find from a holiday property in Scotland.

Located in an elevated position looking NNW across the hillside scattered with areas of beautiful broadleaf trees, the view takes in Loch Dochart and the surrounding mountains. Catching the sun all day and well into the evening there are few pleasures that will match sitting on Kingfisher’s decking sharing quality time with your friends and/or family.

The property benefits from a fitted kitchen with Bosch and Siemen appliances. This includes a oven/hob, larder fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. A Mega flow hot water system provides plenty of piping hot water and excellent water pressure for power showers in both the ensuite 4 piece shower room and separate bathroom with extra long and deep bath.

As with all the 5 star properties at Portnellan the level of equipment available to you is high and Raven is no exception. Equipped with free WiFi usage, Variety with Sports SKY TV package, Blu Ray DVD and a 37″ LCD TV and a wood burning stove. There are Arran Aromatic toiletries in the bathrooms as well as bath robes, soft white fluffy towels, facecloths and slippers.

There is even an onsite visitor centre with a small essentials shop, fresh organic meat from a farm locally for sale (perfect for a BBQ or home cooking), local information, a varied selection of board games and DVDs.

Portnellan Estate is the perfect base for exploring Central/West Scotland with known landmarks only a short distance away. Oban 45 minutes, Stirling, Fort William and Glasgow just over 1 hour and Edinburgh a 90 min drive. Glen Coe and all it beholds is less than 40 mins drive and the bonnie shores of Loch Lomond are 20 mins by car. Other areas include the truly beautiful Glen Lyon and Loch Tay, Glen Etive, Glen Lochay and Glen Orchy all within the local area.

Whether you are looking for the adrenaline rush of adventure or lazy days on your doorstep, out and about on the many hills in the local area or exploring one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland, Portnellan Estate and Raven offers you the warmest of welcomes upon your return.
