    Welcome to Just Wanna Have Sun — a fun and colorful two-story beach house in Gulf Village that puts you steps from the sand and right in the middle of the action.



    The open-concept main floor welcomes you with shiplap walls, a sectional sofa, and Texas-themed coastal accents. The kitchen features white cabinets, a breakfast bar with open shelves, and fish art that keeps the beach vibes rolling. A farmhouse-style dining area connects the living space to the kitchen, and the main level includes bedroom access and a convenient half bath.



    Upstairs, the game room steals the show — air hockey, foosball, board games, and a large smart TV on a comfy sectional. Four bedrooms each feature queen beds with coastal quilts, picket-fence headboards, and their own private bathrooms. A bunk room with two sets of bunk beds adds sleeping flexibility for larger groups.



    Step outside to the covered balcony with Adirondack chairs and pool views, or head to the community pool with its signature tiki hut. A charcoal grill, rocking chairs, and colorful exterior make this home a true island hangout.

If the house happens to be ready earlier than our standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, we, in most cases will allow an early check-in. For a reliable alternative with guaranteed check-in or check-out timing, it's recommended to book the night before or after your scheduled arrival or departure.

    Embrace the laid-back island life by opting for a golf cart, the preferred choice of both locals and visitors. For a touch of adventure and a bit of exercise, rent a bicycle and pedal through charming streets, discovering hidden gems while enjoying the salty breeze. Take it slow with leisurely beachfront strolls, exploring shops, and savoring local cuisine on foot. Enjoy the ferry ride not just as a means of transport but as an experience with breathtaking views and possible dolphin sightings.

    Beach Parking Permits

    Cost: $12.00

    Beach parking stickers can be purchased at City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce, local grocery and convenience stores, as well as various vendors and businesses in town and on the beach.



    City of Port Aransas - Beach Parking Permit Information:



    To park along the beaches in the City of Port Aransas, a $12.00 permit is required. This applies to the area from Marker (0) to Marker (62).



    Free parking areas are available between the Jetties and Horace Caldwell Pier, as well as between Markers 52-58.



    Other Things to Note:

    Please pay close attention to following the HOUSE RULES: Non-compliance could result in sizable fines.

    - All guests staying at a Portoro home are required to sign a rental agreement and complete identity registration.

    - Age restrictions apply. Please inquire for more information.

    - All guests must be included on the guest list and not exceed the maximum number stated on the listing.

    - To ensure your safety, proper access to the home, and guest features, ALL guests are required to read the house manual upon arrival and notify Portoro with any questions.

    - Known damages incurred during your stay must be reported to the property manager immediately.

    - Before check-in, we will send you detailed directions to ensure a seamless arrival.

    - Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

    - Pets are not allowed at this home. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without Portoro’s approval, there will be a cleaning charge of $500.

    - We cannot guarantee early check-ins or late checkouts. When it is possible to check in early or check out late, there will be a fee for anything outside of a one-hour window within our standard times. If your need for an early check-in or late check-out is great, your best option is to book an additional night.

    - The home has cameras for external monitoring only.

    - HOTEL TAX COLLECTION: Both the City of Port Aransas and the State of Texas require all hotel and vacation rental hosts to collect hotel tax. We collect these two taxes within the booking transaction. The state requires 6% and the city requires 7%.

    - LONG-TERM STAYS: (Snowbird, long-term rental, winter Texas, winter Texan). Contact Starkey by Portoro to discuss if a long-term stay discount applies to this listing. Stays over 29 days are waived from paying the State and Local Hotel Tax. However, there are additional fees we need to collect for damage coverage and housekeeping. In compliance with our policies for long-term stays, we need to collect an additional cleaning fee for guests staying longer than 3 weeks. Your Guest Ambassador will coordinate the cleaning schedule for a minimum of once every 2 weeks. You can request cleanings more frequently if desired. Additional cleaning charges will be sent using a payment request or resolution request, immediately following the cleaning. Your guest ambassador will reply shortly and be available to assist you where needed.

    - For the safety of guests and the home, there are noise monitoring devices. These devices only measure the decibel level and do NOT record any audio.

A Dream House

House having 4 bed rooms and 4 & 1/2 bath rooms is GREAT!!!!!Everything work. Plenty of room in house. Only the refrigerator was not on and it took 24hrs to cool!!!!

Close Beach Location

Great time at this property, here’s our pros and cons. Thank you! Pros: Fantastic location, it’s so close to the beach to go in and out (without being directly on the beach). Like new, so the beds and bathrooms were so nice. Great layout for families, especially the upstairs with the games. Cons: Because it’s new, they were missing a lot of furnishings in the kitchen. It’s super loud on a Saturday night because it’s right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The check-in instructions were not always right (regarding trash and door code).

Great property close to the beach

The property listing was accurate and all the rooms were as described. We loved having three master suites with king beds and a spacious bunk room. Having a bathroom attached to each bedroom was fabulous! The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. The two living areas were amazing for a family vacation with our children. They loved the air hockey table and having a TV to use for video games. The shared pool was clean and the kids enjoyed using it daily. Getting to the beach was so easy. Just a short drive (or walk) down the road was the beach access road as well as two gas stations and a Beach Mart. The kitchen was big and all appliances were in good order. We also had reliable WiFi during our stay. My only suggestion is it that the sofa in the living room be replaced (was damaged when we arrived) and that the kitchen be restocked with additional supplies such as mixing bowls and additional pots and pans. It did have all the necessary small appliances including a crock pot. The house was spacious and clean and communication with property management was great! I loved that an onsite staff member was on property on trash days to assist with moving the cans to the curb. We had a wonderful vacation in Port Aransas and really enjoyed staying in this beach house!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Just cannot say enough good things about Starkey property management. We booked a place in January of this year and the week before vacation we were notified it would not be available due to maintenance. They upgraded us to a four bedroom 4 1/2 bath home. The home was relatively new, clean and close to the beach. We have used Starkey property management in the past, and as always they are easy to contact and responsive when you need them!
