Villa AMAPOLA of Villas Solar, Walk to Beach, Best Surf, Market and Restaurants

Villa Amapola is one of four villas at Villas Solar. Situated on top of Plaza Solar, right in the center of Santa Teresa, you can view the lazy road of the town from your balcony, or escape to the back patio among the almendro trees. Villa Amapola shares the gardens and parking area of the other villas, with a communal rancho for chilling out.

We offer concierge services and an on-site caretaker all just a 2 minute walk to the best beach break for surfing in the area. In the front of the villas there are multiple restaurants and surf shops to check out. Come and relax in our fully equipped villa just a few steps away from Costa Rica's most beautiful beach.

Great spot, recommended

We stayed in Villas Solar for three weeks, in one of the two upstairs units, which included a large, lovely porch. The unit is quite roomy, and generally quiet despite being on the main road. The furniture and bed were comfortable and there is a decent kitchen. A communal grill is available. The complex is secured, which is nice. Two units are accessed by stairs and two ground level (in three separate buildings), so if you cannot do stairs get a ground unit. The units are air conditioned (you WILL be grateful). In our unit, and likely all four, the bathroom is separate from the bedrooms and had a good shower. There is a safe in the unit. The kitchen is well stocked. There is maid service, but mostly bringing fresh towels, bedding changes, trash/recycling pickup. Greg, the owner, lives off sight but visits frequently and is super nice and easy to deal with. And, of course, there is the wonderful dog, Luna. An older, mellow and very friendly addition. Potential draw backs? There is no pool, though just across the street is an access road to the beach which is less than a 5 minute walk. If you are going to the beach there are only two (currently) chairs available, and these are camp chairs rather than beach chairs, and no umbrella. There is no available washer & dryer, though there are laundry services in town, one right across the alley. These are minor inconveniences, we were very happy with our stay and dealings with the owner, thus the 5 star.

Great stay in Santa Teresa!

Greg was lovely and helpful throughout the process whenever we needed him. Condo was perfect for our family of four (including 2 teens). Love the little back deck with hammock. Close to everything we needed, including the beach. Would stay here again!

Great location to beach and restaurants

House and location was great. Beach access is across the street, beds were comfortable, everything clean with kitchen amenities. You are on the main road with lots of motorcycle traffic so if you’re a light sleeper bring ear plugs. I would definitely stay here again.

Best location fantastic host

Greg offers the best location in Santa Teresa for bright, clean, spacious and well equipped space. My husband, my two teens and I stayed here and it was a fabulous trip. The bedrooms are large, AC is cold, kitchen is simple but has all you need for cooking. Favorite spot was the outdoor patio with hammock and an area to sit and play cards, eat or listen to music. Cafes and restaurants are within a couple of steps and the beach access is literally across the street. Greg was so helpful and even went to our spot to make sure I had locked the door properly when I expressed concern that I hadn’t locked properly. We will be back soon.

Fabulous stay & Amazing host

What a beautiful villa! 4 of us stayed at Villa Amapola this past week and had such an awesome time. The villa was clean (and gets cleaned every other day which was so nice), a great size & in a perfect location just steps to the beach and close to all amenities. Greg was a FANTASTIC host!!! Super friendly, hospitable, and available at all times to answer any questions or to help us book anything such as surf lessons, atvs, and our shuttle. It was so nice to be able to get recommendations from Greg and know that we are dealing with the best companies. Santa Teresa we a lovely, super chill place. We will definitely be back and will MOST DEFINITELY stay in one of Greg's villas. Thanks so much again Greg for making our stay so awesome!!

Greg is a wonderful host & human! You won't be disapointed staying at Villa AMAPOLA!!

Our family of 4 (my husband, daughter 11, son 8) spent 3 weeks at Villa AMAPOLA over the 2017-2018 Holiday Season. We travel all over the U.S. and internationally staying in VRBO's and Air Bnb's. We think Greg is the most helpful host we have EVER had in a VRBO rental experince. This is a big statement for us as we have had many wonderful hosts. Greg was so helpful from the moment we reserved to our last goodbyes. Pre-trip Greg reached out several times on his own to make sure all our needs were met or answered before we even arrived to Costa Rica. Upon arrival he met us late in the evening and made sure everything was inorder at Villa Amaploa and answered our all our various questions. Greg made himself available through out our 3 week stay via texting through the Whatsapp. He was very responsive to any needs we had from the Villa, dinner reservations (he is fluent in Spanish), booking tours, shuttle to and from airport,surf lessons & ATVs - he is your guy! He also made sure that the Villa was adequately stocked with proper dishes, pots & pans to be able to cook our own meals. The Villa itself is great. The back porch faces the court yard and over looks the jungle. Depsite being right next to the main road, the sound of traffic is muffled for the most part. There is a shared court yard amoung the 4 Villas secured by a sliding gate. It is a very safe from petty theft. We rented ATVs and there was plenty of room to park them. Greg helped arrange this rental. We are beginner surfers and spent most our days surfing at Hermosa Beach a 20 minute ATV or car ride from Villa. 7min walk to a grocery store 10-15 mins walk to so many restaurants. While we were there Greg's grounds keeper & helper of over 10 years Chino - his wife had some health problems and had to go in for surgery. She ended up ok and is making a full recovery. We watched Greg hustle around and go the extra mile to make sure everything was good for all his guests. Despite the difficult circumstances during the busiest time of the season (Christmas & NYE) Greg was able to keep everything running smoothly & be very responsive when we had questions or concerns. Greg is also very involved in Santa Teresa Pet Rescue and has such a kind heart for the abandoned pets of Santa Teresa. When we arrived he was just our host, but we left feeling like we made a life long friend in Santa Teresa. He is not just a host, he is an awesome human. Book with Greg at Villa Solar & you will not be disapointed

Surf sanctuary in the heart of Santa Teresa

Place was awesome and Greg was super helpful. Everything you need is within walking distance but if you feel the need to explore a little further renting an ATV or moto is pretty cheap. The villa was super clean with nice accommodations. We ended up getting groceries and cooking at the place quite a bit. The beach is just a short walk and has great surf! Definitely coming back in the near future!
