Would like water and morning coffee in the lobby

First off the advertised picture of the winding staircase is misleading, it’s not at the Houston Galleria location. When I first got there I was given a room on the 7th floor. The rust around the light fixture let me know that the sprinkler in that room was likely activated at some point..Another dead give away was the smell of mildew so strong that it was choking me every time I inhaled. I was given another room on the 14th floor after complaining. There was brown buildup on the bathroom floor in that room around the leg of the vanity and dirt on the base board behind the bathroom door at least an inch thick. I booked a 3 night stay and checked out early morning after the first night. The walls were also dirty. I left in such a hurry I forgot a book I received the night before at a book signing. I called the hotel about an hour after I checked out to see if someone could go get it to hold for me at the front desk as I was at a conference, and was told security handles lost and found. Security didn’t call me until 6pm, well of course housekeeping probably tossed it by that time. He was rude and hung up on me. If you like a more clean and luxury experience along with professionalism do not stay here. I ended up staying at the Thompson downtown for the remainder of my stay. Now that hotel was PHENOMENAL!!
