Wedding in St. Croix

We had a wonderful vacation in St.Croix. The condo was exactly what we expected from the booking. The renovations were excellent, condo and amenities were great, the beach and pool area was an added bonus. Only feedback we have is there could have been more towels and wash cloths as well as a tv in the master.

Great getaway

Everything was great! It served us well for 5 days on the island. It didn’t matter to us, but know it’s a basement location. Views were of the garden area. Pool was beautiful right on the water. Easy snorkeling from shore.

Based on the photos, description, and some reviews we read on the condo, we were led to believe we booked a condo on the ocean with a balcony. Six days prior to our trip, my wife wanted to look at the amenities again, so we pulled up our booking. To our surprise, the pictures and description of the condo changed indicating the condo was not on the ocean or having a balcony, even though the description said it had a balcony - and still does. We called the host and tried to get a refund, but was informed it was too late. Upon arrival, we actually had to walk down 7 steps to enter the condo. It felt like a basement. There definitely wasn't a balcony, or even a patio.

Unexpected short stay

We booked and paid for 2 months at Estate Garden Rock in St. Croix. The evening of our second day, I had an unexpected heart attack and was taken by ambulance to the hospital and flown to Puerto Rico for care. Thankfully, VRBO reimbursed 75% of the rental fee immediately without complication, for which we are appreciative and grateful. Brent, the assistant manager, went out of his way to help my wife pack and ship our suitcases home. We are deeply grateful for Brent’s help; he was superb!Although we were on site for less than 48 hours, the unit would benefit from more detailed cleaning. The dresser drawers were dirty needing to be wiped out before loading clothing. The coffee maker was dirty to the extent that we purchased a new one. The front door exterior was also quite dusty, leading to a negative first impression. We were not informed that the tap water was not safe to drink until the second day. We suggest that you provide prior notification to purchase bottled drinking water. Attending these hygiene details would help future renters feel comfortable in the unit. Tom and Charlene Fauria

Groom value and easy location

We have visited St Croix several times over the past 22 years and usually stay on the North Shore/Carambola. We needed a trip and funds were tight so we gave this place a try. It is not a fancy high-end resort but has everything we need and the location is perfect to explore the entire island. We will definitely be staying here again and it was very fitting for the four of us. There were a few inconveniences like having to contact the owner to figure out how to get into the property once we landed but she was very responsive. The maid had also left all of the towels in the dryer and had not left toilet paper so we had to buy that. She also had not cleaned out the coffee pot but I understand it was a quick turnaround between us in the prior guests. All in all the stay was perfect for our needs. The restaurant on site was fantastic as well and super convenient to walk too.

Great location

We were very happy with this rental -- it had a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of space for us. The unit is nicely decorated for a vacation on St. Croix and is close to all we wanted to see! We enjoyed the on-site restaurant/bar as well as the restaurants on the boardwalk in the harbor at Christensted. Since we prefer to have lunch out and dinner in, we found the local markets to be well-stocked (at least considering COVID issues) and a good road-side fish seller to the west (recommended by a local merchant).

It was amazing. The condo was lovely and perfect for our vacation. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The restaurant was having staffing issues, but who isn't? My only complaint was that we couldn't get the TV figured out, but that's a little deal.

Very nice stay

Shaun has a very nice condo. He has put a lot of work into it and the interior design is superb. He has thought of most everything one could need and I loved all of the local art used to decorate. The most disappointing thing about the entire experience was the sargasso (seaweed). This gives the place a sewage like smell outside. The “private beach” advertised was unusable for swimming because of the seaweed but children could play in the sand. The pool area was very nice and the restaurant on-site was convenient even though some dishes were unreasonably pricey ($16 for a cup of soup!eek). The fish and chips was the best deal and yummy. Overall it was a wonderful trip and I have no regrets, I would even stay at Shaun’s condo again.

February 2021 stay

The property was clean and overall great. However, the location was not the best as the property was not on a good beach and not in the best neighborhood. For this property you definitely have to rent a car in order to go to better beaches, but for the price it was good and we had a great time overall.

Wonderful stay

Had a great stay, great beach. The area condo was in was alittle on the run down side but condos were great and in a gated property and was nice and quiet. The restaurant on property was not as good food wasn't good and service was even worse, but that was not fault of the owner Shawn he was great.

Misrepresented condo

My husband and I were very surprised and disappointed when we entered the condo. Many of the photos on the site do not match what we saw. We should have been told that the condo is in a state of being remodeled/repaired. There were cans of paint in plain sight, globs of spackle of the floor, and a newly sheet rocked but unpainted wall. A kitchen outlet had no cover plate (dangerous!). An entire wall of kitchen cabinets aren't there now, making it very inconvenient to get on our knees to access the dishes and pots and pans in 2 low cabinets. There are no doors on any closets. The sheers on the bedroom windows offer no privacy whatsoever (people walking by can see in as this is a ground level condo). In this condition, the condo has a 'cheap', low class vibe. If we had been made aware of the 'work in progress' condition, we would not have rented it at this time. We were not told the security code to enter the complex or that we had to register our stay at the office. On a positive note - the grounds are very nice, the beach and pool areas are never crowded, the bar & restaurant are convenient.

Great place. Great location

Perfect location to explore the island. Beaches close, 2 min. to town, less than 30 min. to each end of the island. Conda was clean and had everything we needed. Mattresses seemed new and were comfortable. Kitchen has some new upgrades. Plenty of room. Can see some hurricane damage but looks like new flooring and continues to upgrade. I will be returning.

Great place for family vacation

My family really enjoyed staying at this condo. Shawn answered all my questions quickly. The unit itself is fully furnished, even including beach towels and snorkeling equipment. It is about a two minute walk to the beach, and there are several beaches within walking distance. There is a restaurant in the property and another within walking distance. The only negative thing is that the WiFi isn’t very strong in the unit - but it is stronger by the pool.

The PERFECT Condo and Location!

What a blast we had in St. Croix! Shawn's condo was the perfect place for our stay. The newly remodeled kitchen was a nice touch but the best thing was the location. Right in the middle of the island so we could easily get to either end of the island. The beach there and amenities were nice and so handy. Pool toys, blender and spacious condo were all bonuses. We even found the laundry at the condos and that was VERY handy for those of us who travel light. Thank you Shawn for the use of your wonderful condo. It was a gem and a perfect fit for our stay!

Good location, clean and quiet.

Overall my stay was very good. The unit is in a good location and the facilities are nice. The furnishings and kitchen are new with plenty of utensils for temporary living. The owners were great to deal with and I would stay here again if the opportunity came up. Thanks!

Overall ok.

Lighting is very inadequate throughout with the exception of the hall. A/C units struggled to keep it tolerably cool, fry pans need to be thrown out and replaced. With that, it still met our needs!
