  • Welcome to the Carriage House, a peaceful getaway on our quiet farmstead. If you’re looking for a relaxing quiet spot surrounded by nature, this is the perfect place to unwind.

    Outside, you’ll find a large covered porch with an outdoor dining table—great for meals or just sitting back and enjoying the fresh air. In season, the property is filled with wildflowers and plenty of wildlife to spot. There’s a firepit with plenty of seating for evening gatherings, where you can roast marshmallows and enjoy the night sky. In the winter, the flowers and hammocks may not be available, but the snowy views and wildlife sightings make it just as peaceful.

    Inside, there’s a roomy upstairs living area, perfect for relaxing together. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need to cook meals, and there’s a coffee bar for your morning cup. Bedrooms are spacious, and we also have a laundry room to make longer stays easy. Families will find everything they need here—crib, pack-n-play, high chair, toys, books, and puzzles for kids of all ages.

    Pets are welcome, too! We provide crates, beds, towels, and dishes for them. Just please keep them leashed outside and away from the fenced areas and farm dogs on the other side of the acreage.

    While it feels quiet and tucked away, we’re conveniently located—about an hour from Chicago (depending on traffic) and 30 minutes from O’Hare Airport, right off I-90 and very close (5 minutes) to the NOW Arena. We are 25 minutes away from the Allstate Arena, 15 minutes away from Schaumburg and 15 minutes away from the Elgin Sports Complex.

    Please note: This property is next to state land preserves, so you may see wildlife such as deer, coyotes, and insects during your stay. The home is regularly serviced by a pest control company, but wildlife is part of the natural setting here. If anything comes up during your stay, just let us know—we’re happy to help. We do ask that you keep doors closed and screens secured to keep the inside comfortable.

I had planned this trip for an engagement party! I proposed to my fiance yesterday! We had a very good time very spacious for hosting event dinner for 10 people! The place was very clean and exactly how it showed on the pictures! The host was awesome and replied to my questions in a timely manner! Very happy with my stay

Quiet weekend getaway

House is perfect for a group to get away for a weekend. Sleeps plenty, house is updated, owner was flexible and easy to work with. Would stay again!

This place was perfect for our family meeting in the middle. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and enough bathrooms to accomodate us all. The beds were comfy and we had everything we needed. The kitchen was complete and we were able to cook full meals. There was even wood for the fire pit. If you bring your pets, theres a crate for them. Due to it being spring, there were a lot of ticks in the grass and we had to check ourselves and the dogs but there was bug spray available. It was a lovely stay

We had a wonderful stay at this location, everything was top notch!! We will definitely stay again in the future!! Tabitha was quick to respond with any questions that we may have had.

We came to Elgin for a family reunion and really enjoyed this property. It was very well appointed in a beautiful setting. Perfect accommodations for our group of 8! Highly recommend!

Great Place!

It’s a great house. Comfortable with lots of room and perfect for families with kids. We totally enjoyed our stay. Tabitha was great to communicate with. Would totally recommend to anyone size group.

Beautiful quiet property. Large kitchen for cooking, a lovely patio are and fire pit.Large house with large rooms and open area concept.Host is close by and when some light bulbs went out she came within an hour to replace them. She is very friendly and helpful.You will have to pay a security deposit in case of any damage, but I received it back the day we left.

Beautiful house with lots of room to spread out.

Excellent communication with property owner/manager. Very clean. Would have been nice for outdoors if it wasn’t so chilly at this time of year. Would be a nice spot in summer.

Family

We had family come in from Iowa, Atlanta, and Washington. Short drive to our daughter’s home so we could all gather for all to meet our newest addition to the family. Our 6 week old granddaughter. Definitely would stay again and highly recommend

Our Stay

It was very serene. It had a long entranceway to the property. The house was clean, bright and very spacious. Loved taking our dogs for a walk in the neighborhood. It was a beautiful place to stay and Tabatha was very accommodating and pleasant to speak with.

Graduation from Judson University

Our stay was awesome! This house provides a lot of space both indoors and outdoors. All of our family could stay under one roof for our daughter's graduation from Judson University. The house was clean, well furnished, and met the online description. We saw deer right next to the back patio! It is a quick drive to a Jewel Osco and other shopping. It is also a quick drive to Judson.

Private Get Away

This amazing property is set far back on the property for maximum privacy. The natural light in the house was so nice for those that get the winter blues. The bathtub is deep enough to have a relaxing bath and cover everything. Well be back for sure

Nice property

Check-in process is quick and easy. Kitchen was clean but no dish soap for dishwasher. Not a big issue but may need to check on the little things a bit more. We stayed here and last year and will again as it is convenient and for the most part a great property. Just noticed a few things from our last stay that weren’t quite as well maintained. But not a big problem

Beautiful County setting home

The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. The kitchen is well stocked and had lots of pots and pans. It even had all the spices we needed. It also has all the paper products you need. We stayed for a basketball tournament and renting this house was cheaper than staying in a local hotel and paying for two rooms and much more comfortable. It was nice to have two sitting areas one for the kids to hang out and one for the adults. The outside area was so amazing too. We loved eating our meals outside and enjoying the view. We had enough room we even had the other girls on the team over for a team building party and Tabatha was so nice and told us where to get extra fold up chairs. What nice place to stay. Thank you

Perfect spot for a family to gather

I cannot say enough great things about the Carriage House and the host. The communication with Tabitha was always easy going and she returned messages almost instantly. Easy to find with the directions and plenty of parking space. The house was spotless!! It was stocked the best of any short term rental I have ever stayed at from the kitchen to linens and more. It had plenty of storage space in closets, a full laundry room and large bedrooms. It just had a wonderful cozy feel, and the outdoor patio is beautiful as well as the campfire pit and grill. It makes a great spot for family members to meet up and catch up. Terrific for all ages. Had toys for younger kids, TVs in both living rooms for everyone to spread out. The coffee bar off the kitchen was a really nice touch, too. The location was so serene and peaceful. We heard coyotes howl one night which was very cool. Beautiful plants and flowers all over, and a very well maintained home. I cannot recommend the Carriage House enough, and if I was ever in Elgin again, I would definitely want to stay here.
