The south bedroom was cold due to radiator not working. Having to enter the apartment through iced back steps is treacherous with no hand rails is not good. There is an indoor entrance which should be used in winter and icy conditions. The apartment was clean

The apartment smelled like smoke. When I mentioned it, they brought air fresheners and opened the windows, but it didn't help. So, after a day, I was moved to another apartment. It was nice that was an option. The other apartment didn't have laundry in the unit, which was a bummer, but otherwise it was really nice and almost exactly like this one. The train is SUPER close, though. It's very loud and the ear plugs help a bit, but it's loud and shakes the building a bit.I would recommend they add in a few lamps in the living room, as the overhead lights are too bright if you just want to sit and read. Also in the new apartment, it was odd because I was given a code to the door to the building to get keys, but I was not allowed to keep them because other people needed to use them, which is fine, but then the code on the outside of the door to my apartment was the same code. That made me feel a bit unsafe, but I was told that management of the building needed it to be that way. That was odd to me.

My daughter and I stayed for a long weekend. The apartment was accurately depicted in the photos. The lacking information in the written description is that it is a third floor walk up which is not unusual for Chicago. There is only one building separating the apartment from the elevated trains. The nearness of the tracks is a positive for using public transportation but it was very noisy. The host provided ear plugs but some of the trains were still extremely loud. They run all day and most of the night. I suppose you get used to the sounds if you stay long enough or you are not a light sleeper. The location was great for us. The kitchen was well equipped. It was very clean and neat.

Pros: Great neighborhood. Nice, clean apartment.Cons: The train noise is constant and loud (earplugs did help). There are a number of marks/scuffs on the walls which was a bit of an eye sore.

I hadn't charged my phone so was unable to access video with directions upon arriving and that's on me. I do think the owner could have clarified the entry procedure stating that one key was for the front gate, one key for the side gate, and the keypad was in the back of the property, whether one could access video or not. FYI - THERE IS NO STREET PARKING AVAILABLE. We tried several times on various days. I can't verify cleanliness of the rental as we never gained access. It is a safe area, friendly people, close to trains into the city.

The property itself was nice and clean. It was so close to a lot of great things in the area. Last minute check-in instructions and requests from the owner/s. It was a bit unwelcoming. Address was incorrect on the listing.

Stayed overnight for a Cubs game, and it was a great time! Very clean, tons of space, and excellent communication with the owner. Would highly recommend!
