Thatcher's Mill House On The Ridge and Four Legged Friendly!

Thatcher's Mill House was built in 1919 for the mill workers 3 blocks down that worked at Standard-Coosa Thatcher Mill. There is a one dog limit. The yard is only 2/3 fenced, the right side was too steep to fence. My insurance will not allow Pit bulls, Rottweilers, Chows, or Dobermans. No mixes with these 3 breeds. It was a shotgun house that started with knob and tube electricity and no plumbing. Behind the house is a lot that all the local women would to get their water from a spring located there, no longer there due to the interstate and the demolition of many of the Missionary Ridge Houses. Remodeled and now like new this is a little gem that invites guests to enjoy what Chattanooga offers. Two mile to downtown Chattanooga. I live across the street and behind my house is an old maintained 3 tiered garden with wonderful views of the city. The sunsets are awesome with a goldfish pond and a Mermaid fountain. Sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the sound of the birds singing and the water splashing. Let your worries melt away. The Battle of Missionary Ridge was fought on this very ground. There have been bullets and shot found on the property. Come and converse with the ghosts....just kidding.
Please do not ask for a late check out. I respect that my cleaners have lives other than just cleaning my rentals. Feel free to stay another day. Thank you!

Property was very clean. Great for our dogs with nice area to take them out. House isn't huge but big enough for couples or families with smaller children. Tammy (host) was nice to work with, did not ask for too much and very easy going.

We were in town for Ironman chatty and stayed at Tammy’s property . Several of the neighboring houses must’ve been rentals as well, because we had 2-3 houses next to us with athletes as well. Great location! The house is very cozy and very well appointed with essentials and all the comforts of home . Very clean ! Tammy is a great host

Clean clean clean. Stunning cottage. Just right for me and hubby for a 4 night stay. “Landlord” very helpful, friendly and talented…an artist and master gardener. Enjoyed the garden tour at the main house. Could not have asked for a better experience.

We spent a week at Thatcher Mill House and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is very cozy and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Tammy Hass, our host, was very friendly, and the Thatcher Mill house was just as lovely as she was. She certainly thought of everything to make our stay at the house pleasant. If you get a chance, take a walk in her garden across the road from the property behind her house. We enjoyed the garden and the city view. You can see the old Standard-Coosa Thatcher Mill property, which is currently being redeveloped for housing and retail. Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a vibrant city with a wealth of activities to enjoy. I loved Ruby Falls, Rock City, the zoo, and the aquarium; all were incredible. We had so much fun. Thanks, Tammy, for providing such a wonderful home for the week we were visiting there. It was so nice.

The atmosphere was like home, very cozy. When I got home, I said to myself I didn't even miss home. How sad is that? We made the time we had count. I did however have a hard time with the TV. I am not tech savvy. I would love to send pictures, but I don't know how. I would suggest that you put Pukett's on your recommendations for a place to eat. I really had the time of my life. Thanks for everything.

The house was so cute! We enjoyed our stay, my husband, myself and our fur baby. I thought the yard was fenced but it wasn't. When we arrived we got to meet Ms. Tammy. Very sweet lady! She allowed us to use the yard next door for our fur baby until her guest arrived. I really appreciated that! The house had everything we needed.

Once Again Great!

I spent a month in this cute mill house and grew very attached to it. As we had stayed there before for a few days, I knew it would be good and would have what I needed, and it sure did. I enjoyed meeting Tammy this time and communicating with her during my stay. She was very helpful and I even got a tour of her amazing master garden. This place is very clean, well stocked, nicely set up and able to accommodate dinner guests. There’s no question this will be my preferred place to stay during my/our visits to Chattanooga!

Had a death in family and tried to cancel, but she would not so therefore we could not come did not receive an ounce of sympathy had only reserve the place six days prior. She stated she had a two week notice if you could not come. We had not booked it six days prior, so it was not good.
