Kemp's Log Home is located 2 miles from the rail road grade in Chassell and trail #15 to Baraga and 5 miles to Trail #3 In Painesdale to get to endless snowmobile and ATV trails. Close to groomed cross country ski trails; 3 miles from beautiful Chassell Bay featuring swimming, convenient boat launch, volleyball court, basketball court, horseshoes and fishing dock. $25.00 per night per pet fee maximum of 2 pets.

Great Home Base for Family Fun

The house was perfect for our family of six and my parents during our stay. Beautiful yard and inside. Plenty of space for all. The house was well stocked in kitchen as we prepared several meals. Great location for our day trips. Beds were comfortable.

Summer getaway

This cabin was beautiful! It had plenty of space and having 2 full bathrooms was a plus! It’s in a nice quiet area and was easy to get to. It’s in a great location, pretty much 20-30 min from everything. It was easy to get to trails for SxS riding. I would recommend this cabin to all my family and friends!

Gorgeous Winter Retreat!

Beautiful property - cozy, inviting, clean, warm, had everything we needed and more! Great communication with Sandy & Dan. They gave us great suggestions regarding nearby snowshoe trails, Quincy mine tour, MI Tech Mineral Museum (a must!) and restaurants (loved the Ambassador,) We would highly recommend Kemp's and plan to return to this sweet log home ourselves.

Gorgeous place for group stays

Very reasonably priced, we came with two couples and 5 men so 9. The lot was plowed and huge so we could easily park 4 trucks with snowmobile trailers. The building is beautiful with in floor heat, plenty of seating, huge table to eat, modern kitchen with all plates, glasses, utensils. Anything you need is there. It is not on a trail so you should haul the sleds to South Range. We didnt mind after we walked inside. Sooo much better than staying at a typical UP hotel. Sandy was a great host. Highly recommend it.

Annual snowmobile trip

Great house and area but the snowmobile trail closest to the home 1.5 miles away was closed do bridge work. This was not disclosed in their online add. I would have picked another property had I know this. We all burned a set of carbides getting to and from the main open trail.

Wonderful big family weekend to MTU

This house was perfect for our family of 5 teenage boys while we made a visit to MTU and explored the area. The host was helpful, attentive, and kind. The home provide the space for everyone to have their own downtime, but also family time. Thanks

Beautiful fall stay

Very pretty location with a great outdoor space. Clean and comfy. The layout was great for our extended family. Plenty of space. Only small nitpick is some of the pots and pans could use replacing. Other than that everything else was wonderful.

Very well manicured outdoor areas, home is beautiful, plenty of everything you need already supplied which is very helpful. Was able to check in a little early. Some of the outdoor cushions need replacing but everything else was great! We had friends over for dinner and games, and they loved the place. We will stay again!

30th anniversary

Overall everything was good. Bathrooms and kitchen were clean. No paper towels, no plastic bags for extra food storage. Tops of picture frames very dusty, dog hair under couches. I clean for airbnbs so I see areas to be cleaned.

Best Stay EVER!

First, this "cabin" is nicer than my home! It is beautiful inside, well furnished with quality furniture, and has everything you need to make your stay perfect. Even has a jet tub in the master suite. Everything about the property is magnificent. The host is exceptional, and she made sure we had everything we needed, responded VERY quickly to emails and texts, and is super easy to work with. When we head back north again, we will plan on booking to stay at this property again. Literally perfect in every way!

The home and large property welcomed us with all of our needs :)! Very spacious, comfortable beds, comfortable couches and cozy fireplace. The full moon was an added treat as we enjoyed our time by the fire outside :)

Class reunion Trip

Super easy to find, reservations were a breeze, the house was beautiful, the owners were so nice, very helpful on sight-seeing advice, great location for many day trips. The house was well kept and very comfortable. Razzle described. Super easy check in.

U P Exploration

Beautiful house and property. Nice and quiet. Good variety of bird species around the property. Beds were comfortable. Well stocked kitchen utensils and cookware. Close enough to Houghton to get anything we needed easily.

First time in the U.P.

This home was perfect for our first family vacation to the upper peninsula. It has everything you need to enjoy your vacation. We toured the copper mines, visisted Copper Harbor and did lots of hiking. And on the rainy days we stayed in the cabin and played numerous board games, did puzzles and watched some tv. The cabin is beautiful, clean and has lots of room for everyone to enjoy. We are already planning another vacation to the U.P. and plan on staying here again. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

We stayed here for a graduation weekend. Had a great time, would love to stay here again when we come up here again! We had 5 adults and our dog. Plenty of room to spread out. TV was well explained. Loved the yard and front porch!

First thanksgiving together in 20 years

It’s been my mother’s dream to rent a cabin and get the whole family together for a holiday. It’s been a long time since we were all together so we did our best to get the entire family there for the day. We rented the cabin for a few days over thanksgiving and it was perfect. Beautiful cabin, a lot of dishes available, great yard! Even my dog was happy with the cabin and yard as she could run around and burn off her energy as well. I would absolutely recommend. Our host was fantastic and responded very quickly! I will stay here again.
