Welcome to The Pryor-Haynes House! There is so much to love about this charming, historic home in the heart of Charlottesville just a few blocks from the Downtown Mall. Sleeping eight comfortably, the Pryor-Haynes House is the perfect getaway for your next family vacation or reunion with friends. As you enter the beautifully styled foyer and cross into the home’s elegant interior, you’ll find an open floor plan bathed in the natural light of the surrounding windows. Enjoy an evening at home, cooking in the full chef’s kitchen with all your guests gathered around the kitchen island, lounging in the living room, or playing a game of pool in the adjacent sunroom. Dine in the formal dining room, take your meal outside to the deck, or take a short walk to one of the many restaurants on the mall. As night settles in, you’ll have your choice of beds in one of four serene bedrooms, one of which is within its own suite complete with cozy living space, kitchen, and bathroom. Come stay at The Pryor-Haynes House; if you never want to leave, we’ll understand.

This house is in a quiet, residential neighborhood. Please note for the Pryor Haynes House that the front and back Porch curfew is 10pm and is strictly enforced by our good neighbor policy.

-The pictures online are a true representation of what the property looks like. We all loved it!-The entry way is great - spacious and coat hooks for everyone.-We were 4 couples, celebrating my husband's 65th. The family room/kitchen were so comfortable. The fireplace made it especially cozy, given how cold it was during the week of 20-26 January.-The kitchen was well equipped, although a few of the pots and pans were a bit beat up. -The dining room table was perfect for the 8 of us to take meals AND play cards.-We loved how easy it was to walk to the downtown mall, and conveniently located to all the wineries we visited.-Because of the snowmaggedon and everything shutting down, we had to leave 2 days early. We were sad to have to leave.-If there's anyway to restore the stairs to the basement apartment, with doors that lock on both floors so that they can be rented individually, that would be great. -We cannot wait to rent this place again! Thank you for restoring such a lovely home, maintaining so much of the architectural charm.

Amazing location and place!

Old school feel with modern conveniences, this place rocked! I gave 4 stars on cleanliness bc there were a few small issues at check in but they were immediately rectified! Great communication, great location, great neighborhood! The master bedroom shower was AMAZING! Plenty of room for our family to retreat and celebrate my nieces wedding! Easy to get to great restaurants! I highly recommend!!!

Enjoyable five night stay

First and second floors were beautifully appointed. Basement and third floors were good and more than sufficient. There were a couple hiccups (such as a missing coffee maker) and property manager was extremely responsive (new coffee maker a half hour later). Common areas were perfect for seven person family reunion. Location provided good walking access to pedestrian mall. Quiet neighborhood. Felt very safe.

Large and convenient

The house is quite large and very comfortable. We appreciated the convenience of walking downtown and the safety of our path getting there. The family room, kitchen and pool table area were perfect for gathering as a group of 8 to talk, play games and just hangout. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The check-in instructions were clear and the hosts were responsive. We had a great stay! Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Perfect Location and Beautiful Home

We had a wonderful girls' weekend. Plenty of space for all of us (I almost wish we had an extra night to fully enjoy the home), clean, and all the necessities were included. We could walk to breakfast, take a short Uber to dinner, and enjoy the Stay Charlottesville vineyard itinerary. We would certainly book again!

Great house for family getaway!

My family recently took a trip to Charlottesville and this house was a great choice! We had plenty of space, a great open kitchen area to cook and lots of fun hanging out. I would highly recommend it!

Breathtaking!

Brace yourself for a delight the minute that you walk in the front door. The home is absolutely stunning! From the beautiful wood flooring and woodworking, the amazing staircase, the fireplaces and mantels...and the list goes on and on. The home is in a quiet neighborhood that is within walking distance to the downtown plaza and lots of restaurants. Having a pool table was the " icing on the cake". This certainly is a dream vacation home with all of the amenities...and then some.

Reunion Weekend

Nice house with a lot of Charlottesville charm. Definitely need to Uber to most UVA related activities. Would stay there again as it is nice and fit our needs. We had women fly and drive from very far distances. Would have been a game changer to have some kind of warm welcome touches. A bottle of wine, water, or coffee pods would have felt life changing. Would recommend anyway!
