Cozy Coastal Cottage Centrally Located - Family Friendly-Side B

This is one side of a duplex in a quiet, established neighborhood located in the heart of Mt. Pleasant. It is not on a through street, which means that is has little traffic. The street loops around to Shem Creek less than a block away, which makes for a short, picturesque walk.
The duplex was built in 1960. It is made out of brick and has a classic, simple feel to it, but is by no means perfect. There is a large patio in the back yard with table and chairs, along with with a fire pit, and a beautiful, fully enclosed, outdoor shower. It has its own private fenced in back yard that is large.
There are two bedrooms, each has two windows for plenty of sunlight. One bedroom a queen bed. The other has a full size bed and a twin bed. There is a leather sofa and loveseat in the living room with a 'smart' TV. It has a newly renovated kitchen outfitted with the essentials; stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, plates, cups, utensils, coffee maker, pots & pans, toaster and blender. Washer, Dryer, Iron, Ironing Board, and Blow Dryer provided. Two beach cruiser bikes, beach chairs and a small cooler are also available for use.
The other side of the duplex is a vacation rental as well. Each has its own front door PRIVATE entrance with a screened-in porch. They also both have their own PRIVATE, fenced in back yard, with back door entry. Our other unit is available on VRBO as www.vrbo.com/865208
Our home is conveniently located less than a mile from Shem Creek. We could write a small book on all that Shem Creek and the local area has to offer.

We have two boys, a Giant Schnauzer, and we love going out to eat and sampling some of the world class restaurants the Charleston area has to offer. We love sharing what we have discovered, just ask! We moved here years ago and still feel like we are on vacation. Our favorite way to explore the area is on bikes, so we wanted to share that with our guests. Sullivan's island and downtown Charleston are both roughly 6 miles in opposite directions on the same road with bike paths the whole way to each. Depending on how adventurous you are, you can head out the front door and be on the beach, or enjoying all that downtown Charleston has to offer without ever getting in your car. There are also water taxis downtown from Patriots Point if you do not want to ride the bridge. Again, just ask, we have information on all of that.
Within an 8 minute walk out the front door there is a Starbucks and a host of great places to eat, shop, or grab a drink.

We have been asked on many occasions about steps/stairs and there are no stairs or steps one has to climb to access our home.

They will deliver and set up any items you rent for your trip and then return to pick up after your departure. It's a tremendous service that makes traveling with little ones lighter and way more enjoyable!

For grocery deliver there are many options to choose from these days, one that we recommend, due to it's full-service nature-(who wants to go grocery shopping on vacation?) is Groceries Ahead www.groceriesahead.com They will shop, deliver and PUT AWAY all your groceries, including beer and wine. All you have to do is show up and start living your best life! Make sure orders are placed 48 hours in advance to avoid a $25 last minute charge.

Loved the house and neighborhood. I had to be in town for the weekend for a wedding in Sullivans Island and this was a great location. Makeup towels in the bathroom were an appreciated touch! My dog and I used the backyard and took walks in the neighborhood. We even saw a turtle and a duck family. So fun!

My husband, 2 year old daughter, and dog stayed here for a week. It was perfect for us to explore downtown and the beaches. The hosts were responsive and brought us a great chocolate cake. We would stay here again!

We had a great stay in Mount Pleasant. The house is on the small side but we knew that and it was just what we needed as we were in town for our son's baseball tournament so we were in and out quite a bit. The backyard it lovely and we used the outdoor shower, grill, and firepit. The location is great and allowed us to visit the beach at Isle of Palms and the Shem Creek area and several local restaurants. The owners were responsive to the few needs that arose while we were there. Highly recommend.

Rebecca and Brads home was an excellent choice of stay for traveling with a 1 year old baby! They coordinated with their cleaning team to allow us to check in earlier so that we could get our daughter settled since we were traveling with formula. They had baby friendly laundry detergent/dryer sheets and their home was extremely clean and comfortable. Lots of toys for my 1 year old to play with and stay entertained when we were actually at the home. The surrounding area was amazing and really wouldn’t have needed a car but we were traveling with our daughter, literally less than an 8 min drive to anywhere you wanted to go. It was a 15 min drive to the French quarter. Everything was fully stocked in their home. They put a lot of thought into making their home presentable and we even arrived to the most delicious chocolate cake and French toast! Yum!

We had never used VRBO prior to this. We were a little apprehensive, however, communication with the property owners was fantastic. We were in a nice quiet neighborhood, but we were close to everything. The house provided everything we needed. The beds were quite comfortable, and the back yard was perfect.

Mount Pleasant is a great jumping off point for a visit to the Charleston area. The house is super clean, very well equipped and very comfortable. Rebecca and Brad, owners, are so thoughtful and great communicators. I would definitely stay here again if ever back in the area.

My wife and I stayed here for a few days around new years. Perfect location! Can walk to several coffee shops and quick drive to everything. We brought our dogs and having a fenced in back yard was great!

My family drove down for a quick vacation in Charleston before Christmas, and we had a fantastic time at the Cozy Coastal Cottage! The listing is accurate, but it doesn't describe how amazing this place is. The cottage is clean, convenient to everything in Shem Creek and only about 10-15 from downtown Charleston, and it was PERFECT for the 4 of us. While small, it is outfitted nicely and we loved our stay. Rebecca and Brad were easy to get in touch with, and they were very thoughtful in the way they provided fresh coffee, a chocolate cake, and wine for us upon arrival. They also provide nice soap and shampoo/conditioner, extra towels and blankets, and bicycles, helmets, and beach chairs if we needed them. I loved the backyard with lots of seating, a firepit, and a grill. It was a bit chilly while we were there, but we want to go back when it is warmer and take advantage of all that this place has to offer. VERY comfy beds, plenty of seating in the den, and just a wonderful place to stay.

Our stay was fantastic. The house was the perfect size, clean and the location was awesome. We were able to visit many of the historical sites, go to the beach on Sullivan's Island, and shoot over the bridge to Charleston. Rebecca was a great host. Communication was excellent. She responded right away to any questions. Very laid back and relaxing environment. Would highly recommend this place and hope to visit again.

I stayed with a friend and no pets and our stay was wonderful. Rebecca and Brad were excellent hosts, communicative when I had questions prior to our stay. A sweet welcoming first of wine, a small chocolate cake and local coffee we’re waiting when we arrived. The home is very clean, nicely decorated, and has a serene, restful feel. Our beds were very comfortable (I think this was the best I’ve ever slept while away from home!), and there were plenty of pillows, linens and towels, too. The kitchen has everything you need, modern and in good working order. We got to enjoy the peaceful backyard for a fire one night, but due to a combination of weather and runnning out of time, we did not get to use the bikes. Although we did not bring any pets, I could see how this would be a great stay for pets as well. Rebecca and Brad have thought of everything here and it made for an excellent stay.
