Cedar Island Beachfront Cottage

Adorable, quaint cottage! The cottage only sleeps 6. It features one master bedroom with a queen mattress, a second bedroom with a full mattress, one full bathroom, an upstairs loft area with a twin day bed and twin trundle bed, and an upstairs half bathroom. The fully equipped kitchen has granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. A Keurig coffee maker is provided. Hickory floors run throughout the home. The screened-in porch offers a full-size hanging swing to look out at the fantastic water views of the Pamlico Sound and North Bay and watch the sunset. The cottage features an outdoor shower and eating area so you can enjoy the peace and quiet the island offers.

Close access to sandy beaches and a public boat ramp is less than 100 yards away. Great spot for fishing, boating, and swimming. Horseback riding is offered at the local campground, Cedar Island Resort. Day trips are easy to Cape Lookout National Seashore, Harkers Island, Beaufort, Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, and Ocracoke. Please check individual websites, if interested, for activities and hours of service. The Cedar Island ferry is a short walk from our Cottage.

There are two small kayaks and one full-size kayak for your use, as well as fishing rods and tackle, a gas grill, and an outdoor eating area.

If you are looking for a place to relax and recharge, without the hustle and bustle, this is the place for you. We do have wi-fi but it can be slow and spotty at times. I love offering my home and this beautiful, quiet, remote, and relaxing island for others to enjoy.

Please bring your own beach chairs, beach towels, sunscreen, and insect spray.

No pets or smoking.

Lovely remote cottage

Wonderful lodging for the traveler who wants a quiet and scenic location. Cottage is remote with a scenic drive to reach. Short walk to a quiet wide-open beach. Enjoyed evenings on a lovely large screened in porch. Easy private parking. Interior was comfortable and clean. Outdoor shower was great when returning from beach. Tiny kitchen but has all one needs to cook.

Excellent gateway

We loved Heather's cottage, it was clean and just as advertised. Our favorites were watching the sunset on the porch, taking walks in the beach and horseback riding just down the road. Highly recommend, if we ever get a chance to go back to NC this cottage will be the place we'll book for sure!

Peaceful Bliss

Born and raised in NC, I have never been to this area of our state. It is beautiful - stunning. Not having any true commercialization eliminated the standard tourist noise. The house was lovely. It has a very very small kitchen so plan accordingly. The views were spectacular. Our only regret is not being able to bring our family dog. That amenity becomes a showstopper for us most of the time.

Great little house!!

Our stay was wonderful! Everything in the house is as pictured, no surprises. It was very comfortable for the two of us. The beds and furniture were comfortable. Some tips that others might find helpful…we had very high winds for a few days and you could feel the house swaying while you’re laying in bed. I learned through a quick google search that this is completely normal for a beach house on stilts. Just a little scary if you’ve never experienced that before! This is an isolated area, not much around nor many people around if you’re here during the week (at least after Labor Day). Perfect if that’s what you’re looking for, a little lonely feeling if you like seeing other humans on your vacation. The house does not have a blender, so no frozen margaritas for us :( But it was very well stocked with everything else we needed. We couldn’t find any directions for the TV, but we think it is all just streaming channels through the internet. The movies would sometimes cut in and out due to weak internet connection, but it was doable. It’s good to take a vacation from television anyway, and if you bring a good book you won’t miss it at all. We thoroughly enjoyed the screened porch with the rocking chairs and swinging bed! Dinner on the porch watching the sunsets (and sometimes the storm clouds) were awesome 💙💙💙 K & J

Quel lieu paisible!

Ce cottage est parfait avec une cuisine très bien équipée et même des denrées de base à notre disposition (merci!). Nous avons adoré la terrasse en hauteur avec les chaises berçantes et le lit suspendu. La totale pour relaxer, observer les oiseaux, écouter le coassement des grenouilles et regarder le coucher de soleil. Oui, il y a des moustiques, mais aussi un écosystème très riche. Il n’y a pas de grande table à l’étage pour manger, mais nous nous sommes bien accommodés des deux petites tables étant seulement 3 personnes (2 adultes et 1 ado). Les lits sont confortables et l’air climatisé fonctionne très bien. La plage à quelques minutes de marche était superbe et peu achalandée lors de notre passage. Nous avons abondamment utilisé la douche extérieure (trop super!). Bref, c’est un beau paradis, le cottage « Pumpkin »!

Beautiful home

The home is beautiful. Location is amazing. I would recommend A LOT of bug spray. The misquotes are the size of your hand and everywhere. If you are looking for a quite vacation this place is perfect

A LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN!!

My fiancé and I stayed at this cottage for 6 days, and we did not want to leave!! It was SO private and relaxing, which we both needed! We slept on the porch bed all night, only hearing the wind chime, and feeling the breeze! We had the beach to ourselves every time we went out! So many memories made. Thank you!!

Calming Cottage

Cozy beach cottage vacation

We stayed at the cottage this MLK weekend, and it was just perfect! The cottage was just right for our family of 4. It was clean and well appointed with all the comforts of home. Check in/out was a breeze, and we immediately settled in and enjoyed our vacation.

Peaceful Post-Wedding Stay

My husband and I stayed here for a relaxing 3 night get away after our wedding. We knew the location was pretty isolated, which is what we wanted. We spent one day exploring the nature preserve and another in Ocracoke (2 hour ferry ride). It was extremely windy and chilly our first evening and cool the rest of our stay. If the weather had been warmer, we would have really enjoyed the screened in porch and would have probably slept on the swing. It’s a pretty small house with a kitchen for one, so the grill was a nice addition and we used it one night for steaks. The house was clean but not really built for relaxing inside. The sheets on the bed were very soft but had some stains, like they were washed with a pen or mascara. Not a big deal but we changed them out when we arrived because we weren’t sure if they were clean. Water pressure would go in and out in the shower but that could just be the nature of the location and we were still able to enjoy nice warm showers. It looks like quite a bit of the beach closest to the house has recently been destroyed by storms. There are a few water front houses with obvious storm damage. We weren’t able to access most of that beach due to neighbors with gates blocking access. I would recommend going to the beach near the campground. It is far better and we were able to see about a dozen feral cows! Unfortunately, we didn’t check out this beach until we were heading home. Overall we enjoyed our stay but had bad luck with November weather.
