Castell de Hohenwerfen

This is not appart hôtel. These are appartements bought in a very old and low class building share with normal inhabitants. And rented as apart hotel . Locating the place is not easy ans it is a normal Building and no major sign outside. and then Building is dated from 70’s and entrance is really not welcoming. Self checking is basic And no reception desk only phone number. I have the feeling to have been scammed and regret because for the same price you can easily find a real hotel.

How to start!? I'm visiting this Hotel for more than 10 years now, almost every year! It was a well kept, immaculately clean Hotel (Mader) with gorgeous staff in every way. It was a pleasure to stay here. Things changed with the new ownreship radically. Entering the lobby area the carpet is dirty, the reception area is neglected, desk spotted, the remain of the food wrapping is visible. The Concierge himsef showed unkempt impression wearing wrinkled clothes, messy hair... I made reservation and paid in advance for a higher class room, first I was given a different quality room. After my request I was given a nother one, made not much difference! Elevator dirty, floor dirty , food smell all around. After considering if I want to sleep and wake up here, decided to leave. I drove home to Budapest, it was enough of dissapointment. Leaving the place I was promissed to receive a note in my email box within 5 minutes. Never arrived! I was also promised to be contacted by the manager (who was out from the basement at that time). Never happened! I contacted Expedia, they were kind to go after my case. Result : NO REFUND ! OK , do not worry I can live with that , but how the owners and the staff can live with such negligent and unconscionable way! So if you want to spend quality time for your payment forget this place !
