Comfortable poolside cottage offering cooling bay breezes and glorious bay views. This 3 bedroom cottage with 2 1/2 baths has an light and airy open floor plan anchored by a renovated kitchen. The recently painted cottage has everything you need for a great beach vacation. Relax to bay views and island sounds from your screened lanai off the living area-- including a comfortable seating area with a large flat screen smart TV, large dining room table and well-stocked kitchen with a spacious granite island, plenty of cabinet space and full-sized stainless appliances. A staircase leads to a large, light-filled master bedroom suite featuring new carpeting, a king sized bed, large flat screen TV, seating area, ample closet space, attached master bathroom and wonderful bay and pool views. Two additional bedrooms are on the main floor. One has a queen sized bed, large flat screen TV, full bathroom and tropical garden view. The other bedroom has twin beds, large closet and a pool view. The powder room includes a full-sized washer and dryer. The cottage also has digital cable and high speed WIFI service. This wonderful rental also comes with additional amenities including covered parking, a gas grill, beach chairs, beach umbrella and beach towels. Complimentary boat dockage is also available on a dock just steps away.

The cottage is located in the Captiva Shores community in the exclusive Tween Waters area. The best of both worlds, Captiva Shores stretches from Gulf to Bay, has on-premises boat dockage, a large tropical heated pool, pool house, lush tropical landscaping, and private access to miles of the island's famed and recently replenished shell-strewn beach. Enjoy a spectacular sunrise on the dock and take in the endless sunsets on a big bench overlooking the Gulf-- all within steps of your stay. Captiva Shores is also just a short stroll down the beach or through town to charming restaurants with live music, a well-stocked general store, ice cream parlor, beach store and rental shops, sunsets at the renowned Mucky Duck, desserts from the Bubble Room, tour boats, the picturesque Chapel by the Sea and countless other unique island activities.

Kingfisher is great, this condo is poor

Property is run down. The splintery steps and back porch should have been replaced years ago. Sliding glass door, which serves as a front door, is worn out, and the lock barely works. The pool is great, and the location is very good. Properties just need to be maintained, or over time they become like this one.

Great place to stay for the beach vacation

It was easy to get in The property is very close to the beach and local restaurants. We found that Captiva Island is one of our favorite destinations as a vacation on the beach. We have enjoyed our time The only suggestion for the owner is to upgrade cookware We will be back

We were greeted by the overwhelming smell of mildew and discovered standing moldy water from a leak.

The pool and property was beautiful and well maintained. The condo, however was in need of a fresh coat of paint. The cushions in living room and porch were filthy that we covered them with beach towels. The area rug in the living room was so badly stained we rolled up and put it away. The carpet up the stairs and master bedroom is beyond cleaning-it needs to be replaced. The management company was very good in responding to the dripping disposal and changed it out quickly. They offered to send a cleaning crew to clean up the slimy water but we already had. They also offered to clean the carpet but that would be a waste of time.

Nice Beach Cottage

We enjoyed the location especially because we wanted to be on the beach as well as have a dock. Easy walk to Captiva village and all the restaurants. Comfortable rooms. Our main criticism would be that there were no beach towels and inadequate basic supplies like dish soap and toilet paper. Also the kitchen could be better stocked. Tea pot and some other utensils are past their sell by date, Otherwise a nice place.

There were many positive aspects to the property (which I will enumerate later), but there were several items that would make me not give the stay a 5-star rating. 1. We could never find the kayak and there were no instructions as to where it might be. (It wasn't in the garage area.) 2. The living room furniture desperately needs to be replaced! Six people could not be accommodated. The sofa and chair (the only seating in this area) have exceeded their life-span. 3. There needs to be an overhead light in the dining area. One small corner table lamp is not sufficient. 4. The picture of the property is a little misleading. This is a side-by-side, two unit property. The picture makes it seem as the whole property is the one we rented. A little more "veracity" in the presentation would have been appreciated. 5. An inventory of the kitchen dishes, glasses, and equipment could lead to replacing some missing items and removing duplicates (how many coffeemakers are needed?) 6. While a renter doesn't expect a great number of condiments, it would be nice to have the basics, such as salt and pepper. Or, perhaps the intro material could state that this is not provided and suggest that it be purchased before arriving, maybe even shopping before crossing from Sanibel to Captiva. (The main grocery stores were about a 60-minute ride back and forth to Sanibel.) The positives: The screened porch was loved by all! The bedrooms were fine, and the 2 1/2 bathrooms were perfect for our family. The washer/dryer were a nice convenience. Having the swimming pool (very nice) right near the unit provided a nice alternative for our younger set. As described by the company, the access to the beach was just across a 25-mph road. This was not a problem. In this area, the beach is very uncrowded. The unit provided a number of beach chairs and an umbrella - all in very good condition. The location of the unit made watching the sunrises from the upstairs bedroom or the nearby dock a great way to start the day. This was only surpassed by walking to the beach to see the sunsets!

Good location reasonably priced.

We stayed at this condo December 2018. It's in a good location within walking distance to the beach, bay and downtown Captiva. The cleaning service made sure the kitchen, bathrooms and beds were very clean. My complaint is that the carpet is old and worn, the furniture is old and very, very tired. The furniture is of poor quality, drawers that are hard to open or close and all have seen way better days during the 1980's. This unit is in a good location next to the pool and has a nice view of the bay. With a little bit of money invested in some new furniture and carpet this place could be a lot better.
