My family of 8 stayed at this property during the last week of March. Upon arriving everything looked great…until you really sit down and look around. Yes, they have an air hockey table… It’s so dilapidated , it’s pretty much not usable. This is a rental that you have to buy everything, and I mean EVERYTHING!!! We were left with a teaspoon of dish soap and 3 dishwasher tabs. No laundry soap (and they require you to launder ALL towels before you checkout). One threadbare kitchen hand towel, and 2.5 rolls of toilet paper for a 3 bath house. The pool area is ok. We were a little grossed out by several used bandaids stuck to the pool surround and some cigarette butts shoved under the red outdoor couch. No propane for the gas grill. EVEN THOUGH it states you must refill it for next guest, we were left with none. Beds are extremely, EXTREMELY uncomfortable, everyone was sore each morning. But the biggest disappointment we encountered was a $145 electricity fee. The owners were not very transparent with the usage either. We asked to see the usage number and rate for electric per Kilowatt. Finally after several emails they told us $0.15 per Kilowatt. The Florida average for electric companies is $0.10 per Kilowatt. So they will be profiting off of you…just saying. We were rarely there during the day and had turned AC to 72 while out. 70 at night. It’s hard to believe we generated that much usage. $50-$75 seems normal but $150..excessive. It’s like saying the electric bill per month is around $600. Which I doubt, but I digress. The property will charge you if you have more then 2 guests, which let’s face it, is advertised at sleeping 10. So more hidden costs. It’s like that Spirit airline ticket that appears to be a great value until the add ons add up and gouge you. Still it was a break from northern Michigan weather in beautiful sunny FL. We rented a boat through their sister company and had zero problems I would recommend doing that while you visit. We left the place immaculate with a case of Corona and some cash on the table for the cleaning crew. When trying to dispute the electric charge, we were accused to have “rubbish everywhere” which is simply not true. We asked to see pictures of the trash and they were never sent. My sister and I were shocked, we were constantly cleaning up. It is in a great neighborhood to walk and is safe. That’s a plus, and it is located in a great part of town close to everything.
