The Escape Hatch is a Star Wars-inspired lakefront retreat that blends nostalgic 1970s lake house character with modern comfort and playful themed décor. The home sits above Canyon Lake and offers panoramic water views from the living room, dining area, and kitchen, creating a relaxing atmosphere throughout the main living spaces.
The property includes approximately 1,450 square feet in the main home with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, plus a separate detached 150-square-foot bunkroom designed as a fun hangout space for kids or teens. The home comfortably sleeps up to eight guests, with additional sleeping space for two more guests if using the trundles under each bunk bed.
Sleeping arrangements include one queen bed in the primary bedroom, two twin beds in the guest bedroom, and two bunk beds in the detached bunkroom. The bunkroom also includes a Smart TV, making it a great space for movies, games, or relaxing after a day on the lake.
Inside the main house, vaulted ceilings, wood-paneled walls, and stone accents highlight the home's original architecture. Vintage touches like the colorful tile bathrooms and original oven preserve the character of the home, while new flooring, updated furnishings, a new refrigerator, and dishwasher ensure modern comfort. Please note that the beautiful interior stone fireplace is decorative only and not available for guest use.
The kitchen and dining space are designed for gathering and entertaining. The dining table seats six guests, with two barstools at the kitchen counter and additional flexible seating available. The kitchen includes a Keurig coffee maker with refillable K-cup, and we provide coffee, filters, creamer, and sweeteners for easy mornings. Guests will also find a telescope for lake watching and stargazing, a spirits cabinet for entertaining, and a desk workspace in the guest bedroom for those blending work with vacation.
Outdoors is where the home truly shines. The property features a large lakeview deck, multiple terraced seating areas, and a lower viewing platform closer to lake level. The rocky shoreline below is accessible, giving guests the chance to experience Canyon Lake up close. Guests can enjoy outdoor dining, lounging areas, a propane firepit, and a propane grill for relaxing evenings overlooking the water.
For lake fun, guests can also use the stand-up paddleboard and large floating water pad, making it easy to enjoy the water right from the property.

The shoreline in this area is not suitable for swimming or launching boats. For water access, we recommend visiting nearby public access points around Canyon Lake.
