For those who like to explore the local heritage, Godinton House and Gardens and Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, both make for great days out, or hop in the car to nearby Canterbury (7 miles) where you can explore Canterbury Cathedral, or the Kent coast at Whitstable (12 miles) famous for its locally caught oysters.
