Summary: This stunning townhouse is perfectly equipped for your much needed family or group retreat. The home offers beautiful living spaces, nearby restaurants and coffee shops, and an easy 15 minute walk to Downtown Canmore! Huge south-facing deck with lounge, living room with gas fireplace, dining and kitchen, & the master suite. The lower floor contains two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The bunk beds are perfect for kids and non-couple groups of friends or colleagues!
The Space: If quality and style are important to you, this is the perfect space for your Rocky mountain adventure. Pictures do not do justice to the craftsmanship and the stunning views from every window. Perfectly located within walking distance to downtown, great restaurants & bars, coffee shops & supermarkets. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm, and the lovely bathrooms are stocked with local Rocky Mountain Soap Company body wash, shampoo and conditioner. This townhouse is perfectly suited to families or groups of friends. If you are a group needing more than one unit, talk to us about a group booking for one of our other properties on 2nd Avenue. El Refugio is air conditioned for your comfort, and just 15 minutes drive to Banff. The layout of this home is perfect for families. Upstairs is a huge kitchen, dining and living area with a massive south-facing deck with seating for 8 and a BBQ. Inside on this same level is a half bath and laundry, as well as the master suite with king bed and walk in shower. Downstairs is another full bathroom with a tub/shower and two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 contains a queen bed, and bedroom 2 has two sets of bunk beds (sleeping 4 in total). Also downstairs is a spacious entry and mudroom for all your storage needs. Parking is out front on the driveway, where there is room for 2 small cars, and plenty of street parking as well.

Guest Access: Guests have access to all areas of the townhouse except the garage.
The Neighborhood: 2nd Ave lies just off the main access road in and out of Canmore. The townhouse is perfectly placed for quick access by road to hiking and skiing in Banff National Park. Within a 5 minute walk you can enjoy the amazing French pastries at Le Fournil, an amazing meal at Crazyweed Kitchen or Ankor restaurant, or grab some freshly roasted coffee to take home from Eclipse Coffee Roastery. Supermarkets are a 5-10 minute walk, and downtown Canmore with its shopping and restaurant scene is a 10-15 minute walk from the condo.
Getting Around: Free local Roam transit is available within Canmore, with connections to Banff and Lake Louise (fares apply). Legacy Trail bike path to Banff is literally a one minute ride away. Canmore is highly walkable, with dedicated paths for both foot traffic and bikes all over town. Bikes can be rented from Gear Up, a 5 minute walk from the home.

Wonderful stay!
The property was perfect for our group of 7 adults and 1 infant. The bunk bed room worked great for our group. The house was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked - we cooked all our meals in. There is a lot of parking outside the unit. The management team were great to deal with - when our code didn’t work they responded very quickly and were super helpful! We had a wonderful stay!

Great townhouse near Banff
We used this rental as our headquarters for exploring the Canmore/Banff area. The townhouse was well stocked and clean and the views are lovely. This is close to grocery and restaurants and an easy drive the park. There are stairs and beds well-suited for a family.

5 stars all around!
We stayed at 3 different VRBO's on our 11 day trip to the area. This was by the best one! We loved everything about it. Great layout. Very clean. Beautiful view. Comfy beds. Evening walks on the trail out front. One evening we even saw moose or elk! So much food in the area. Very walkable town. Every morning we walked to the coffee shop. Great communication from the property manager. We hope to come back again.

Fabulous stay with gorgeous views
We loved our stay at this adorable townhome, and it met all of our family's needs. The manager, Jane, was SO kind and easy to work with. Great location with beautiful views, and only an easy 15 minute drive to Banff. A great choice for your stay in the Canadian Rockies!

Girl's Getaway
Fantastic place to stay. Enough beds for all of us.
Loved the balcony..sadly looked like the umbrella went missing..very hot the weekend we were there and would have loved to have some shade while sitting out.
Difficulty with the air con... did not seem to work properly. Just kept all our blinds and windows closed during the day.
Would definitely book again!

Perfect for friend's meeting
Great setup for a group of adults that want to get together. Able to easily fit 8 friends together with enough space to sleep comfortably and not feel too tight. Perfect location for access to Canmore. Jane, the host is very responsive. Will recommend.

Wonderful property
El Refugio was perfect for our family vacation that included 2 older teenagers and my elderly mother. Super clean and well appointed with every detail we could imagine. Great location with short walks to numerous restaurants and grocery store. Downtown Canmore was only about 10 min walk. A great running trail right across the street was perfect. We will definitely be back!
