A beautiful newly and very carefully restored barn, set in the heart of the Garfagnana region of Northern Tuscany, 1 hr 15 minutes north of Lucca.

This detached villa with private pool has been lovingly refurbished by the owner using traditional materials, and warm tuscan colours to give a rustic, but very homely feel to the property.

The 'barn' has beamed ceilings and traditional style flooring throughout and is furnished with a pleasing mix of the modern and antique. The ceilings are high, giving a good sense of light and space, and the views from the house are beautiful......

As well as the open plan well equipped kitchen, diner, living area, there are 4 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms, one of which is ensuite, and one of which boasts a bath tub.
The ground floor bedroom and en-suite can be accessed from double doors and is wheelchair friendly, with large doors through to wheelchair friendly bathroom. There are no steps on the path leading down to the pool...
Outside there is a covered pergola, gardens with apple trees and private infinity style pool of 10M x 5M.

This is a perfect place to relax, and enjoy a real feeling of yesteryear, whilst surrounded by modern comforts.

October - April Pool is closed off. Additional E100 fee for Pool to be open.

Ein wunderschöner Urlaub in einem tollen Haus mit riesengroßem Grundstück und großartigen Pool. Der Vermieter war super nett, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Alle Kinder und Erwachsenen hatten großen Spaß. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe eingeschränkt, aber wenn man sich einmal orientiert hat, bekommt man alles, was man braucht.

Such a beautiful property in a stunning location. Ilario gave us a warm welcome upon arrival and made sure we had all the information we would need for our stay. We had a super week as a family of 5 adults, enjoying the views whilst having an apperitivo under the veranda or swimming in the fantastic pool. The villa is well equipped and very clean! We really couldn't have asked for more. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa, and hope that we can visit again soon!Thank you Ilario and Marie at Tuscan Retreats.

Wonderful stay

This is a lovely house with beatiful surroundings, the view is spectacular !!! The house is well equipped with all you need in the kitchen and we used the bbq outside serveral times. The pool is also very nice and fresh. We were 2 families, 8 persons and we loved it, Many Thanks to the owner Ilario for your pleasant welcome and for all the fruits and vegetables.

entspannter Familienurlaub

Die letzten Meter der Zufahrt zum Haus sind ein Kies-/Feldweg und dementsprechend sollte man mit normalen (Mittelklasse) Wagen etwas auf seinen Unterbodenschutz achten. Mit unserem VW Tiguan war es kein Problem. Check-in und Check-out war sehr unkompliziert mit Ilario. Das Haus war sauber und uns hat an Ausstattung für Frühstück und Grillabende nix gefehlt. Das Bad im unteren Teil des Hauses ist mehr oder weniger behindertengerecht, jedoch flutet man aufgrund der fehlenden Duschkabine gerne das halbe Zimmer. Wir waren ein wenig am Zweifeln, ob die fehlende Klimaanlage zum Problem wird aber Lorraine & Co hatten Recht. Es kühlt abends bzw. in der Nacht wunderbar ab, man kann herrlich (mit offenem Fenster und ggf. einer der vorhandenen Wolldecken) schlafen. Das ist aber leider auch der Grund warum der Pool trotz durchgängig heißen Wochen nur 22 °C hatte und dementsprechend sehr frisch ist. Eine Abdeckung für die Nacht wäre das Nonplusultra :)

Es ist ein sehr schönes Haus mit Pool und Garten sehr schön angelegt abend beleuchtet. Es liegt auf dem Berg, wer zum Meer möchte muss ca ne stunde Fahrt in kauf nehmen ,wer rund um die Berge wandern möchte ist hier gut aufgehoben.Möglichkeiten zum gut und günstigem Essen gibt zu genüge.

Wunderschönes Haus in einer wundervollen Landschaft

Das mit viel Liebe restaurierte Haus einfach zum Wohlfühlen, samt Garten und Pool einfach nur zum genießen!!! Super schönes Anwesen, gepflegter Garten und gut ausgestattetes Haus.

Wir waren mit der gesamten Familie dort. Die Zimmer und das Haus sind liebevoll eingerichtet, die drei Badezimmer sehr sinnvoll und Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Ein Grill im Garten beschert wunderbare Abende. Kleine Bemerkung : Das Haus liegt herrlich im Wald etwas abgeschieden von der kleinen Ortschaft. Die Strecke zum Supermarkt ist schon eine kleine Herausforderung für Magen und Auto (viele enge Kurven im Wald und enge Dörfer). Aber der Ausblick entschädigt für alles. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Great place to celebrate anniversary

We decided to celebrate our 50 th wedding anniversary with family and could not have picked a better place. Both young and older enjoyed the pool and local restaurant and shopping were fabulous. The owner was most helpful and friendly. We would return again.

Lovely house and surroundings

This is Toscana but something different compared to the Siena-Volterra-San Gimignano area. The mountains are higher, it is greener and temperatures in summer are lower. This makes good potential for your holiday. The house is nice, well taken care of and has a lovely garden and pool area. No A/C but low night temperatures makes it unnecessary. The owner, Ilario, is a lovely man that takes care of guests, garden and all other things concerning the house. He even brought us a basket of his own vegetables from the nearby garden. Perfect! It is possible to visit Lucca and Firenze over the day but it will take you some time. Check google maps for travelling times. In every aspect a perfect spot for your holiday.

Absolutely stunning property and views. Spectacular holiday

The owner was very friendly and kind offering us vegetables from his garden. We used herbs from the villa garden for our evening bbq. The surrounding area was beautiful and we were very lucky to have woken up to this beautiful view for a week. The pool was an added bonus In the warm weather. There was so much to do and see including the caves which was absolutely fantastic. Great for adults and kids. The beach at Forte Dei Marmi was lovely and the sea was warm. The market was fab too. The local people were so friendly and happy to see us it was lovely meetingbso many new people. Lorraine was extremely helpful which made the booking run smoothly. I will definitely recommend Lorraine’s services and the villa to my friends

Traumhafte Unterkunft

Wir hatten traumhafte 14 Tage im Spätsommer 2018. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt, das Haus und die Küche sind sehr gut ausgestattet. Der Pool ist groß und sauber. Der Hausherr ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Man sollte bedenken, dass es zu den größeren Ausflugszielen (Pisa, Modena, 5 Terre, Lucca etc) eine abenteuerliche Fahrerei durch die Berge ist ist. Wir hatten damit aber keine Probleme. Einkaufmöglichkeiten gibt es gute in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (ca. 15min). Ein Bahnhof ist direkt im Dorf, den hatten wir aber aufgrund der Zugpreise nicht in betracht gezogen.
