¿Una oficina de correos como alquiler vacacional? Si, absolutamente. Este espectacular edificio renovado comenzó como un granero en una isla cercana en el siglo XIX. La planta baja de este edificio histórico ha sido la oficina de correos local en funcionamiento desde 1931. Arriba, aislado del ruido de un pequeño lugar de reunión de la aldea, se encuentra el apartamento abierto de estilo loft, con altos techos tipo catedral. Diseñado y decorado como una cabaña histórica de Maine. Cómodamente amueblado, esta propiedad es la escapada romántica perfecta. Una excelente ubicación, con servicios cerca.

La cocina moderna y acogedora satisfará todas sus necesidades culinarias. Un montón de comedores interiores, así como cenas al aire libre en la terraza, justo al lado de la cocina. ¡El loft y la cúpula son retiros privados para niños en tu fiesta, como dormir en una casa del árbol! Las vistas desde la cúpula son panorámicas, con un vistazo del océano en la distancia (estacionalmente). Hay una terraza privada en la parte trasera que ofrece hermosas vistas de nuestros jardines, donde puedes cenar y ver la puesta de sol. Los jardines y el amplio césped conducen a un pequeño estanque donde puedes sentarte junto a la fogata y asar malvaviscos.

Owls Head es una península aislada y pintoresca de boya y langosta, una de las auténticas colonias frente al mar de Maine. Ubicado en el centro de Maine, es el punto de partida perfecto para aventuras de un día. Rockland está a solo 5 minutos y 15 minutos de Camden, ambos ofrecen excelentes tiendas, museos, galerías de arte y festivales. A solo 3 minutos en el camino se encuentra nuestro restaurante favorito (premiado) de la granja a la mesa, Primo's. Hay muchos restaurantes increíbles y chozas de langosta cerca.

The property is unique and fun. For our first visit to Maine, we loved staying there away from the hustle and bustle. The general store was also a treat; their fresh baked muffins were delicious. Our kids loved staying in the cupola.

This property is very nice and has a beautiful garden.I must mention that it has a lot of stairs - 3of4 being ladders. The second story bed room has no closet or other place to keep your clothes. The bed there is only 12-18” from the eave wall making it difficult to access the bed. Because of the location at the intersection of 3 roads, there is some road noise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is delightful, a visual playground as well as being comfortable; everything has been thought of. The outdoor garden was in full bloom and gorgeous with plenty of room to relax or dine. The location is excellent, quiet and peaceful with a small-town grocery store right next door and an historic and scenic lighthouse only a relaxing walk away. Plus the lovely towns of Rockland and Camden only a short drive. Highly recommend!

This was our second day at this property and it was just as lovely as the first. The wonderful hosts bring an artist's eye to everything they do. They are also thoughtful enough to make sure that there’s are extra toothbrushes or razors or other necessities you may have forgotten. The gardens are so beautiful and everywhere you look in the house, there’s something delightful to the eye. The location next-door to the general store and just up the road from the harbor is wonderful. The cleaning service is terrific, too.

We loved our stay at the post office. The apartment is so unique and cozy. My kids really enjoyed the loft bunks, and I did too while reading during a brief rain shower. The General Store was also great. We loved the convenience, thought the food was good, and the staff was friendly. A perfect home base for our family trip!

Amazing! Every detail of the post office was so well thought out! It felt like staying in a cozy house museum. We couldn’t believe the garden area either. My kids never wanted to leave- and are still asking when we can go back. (Just a note- my 3 year old did need to be carried on the stairs due to their ladder-like structure). The kayak access to local islands was also super cool- a very special experience.

Such a cute and unique property in the perfect location for exploring all of the mid coast. We come up to visit friends every summer, and the post office was the perfect home base. The photos don't even begin to do justice to this house! Everything about our stay was excellent! Great location, great vibe, great stay! We even used the kayaks and grill, both of which were in perfect working order......a real rarity at a rental property. I can't speak to the quality of the TV because we never even turned it on in the 5 days that we were in Owls Head. I have already started recommending this place to everyone who will listen to me!

Delightful! Quirky! Fun! Comfortable! Relaxing! Welcoming! Great locations! Those are just a few of the ways we would describe the Owls Head Village Post Office. And just to be clear...the actual Post Office in on the first floor with the rental space comprising the 2nd floor, a deck, a ½ size 3rd floor with queen bed, and the cupola with the "tree house" bunk beds. Plus, there's a gorgeous private garden. Our stay began with great communications with Doug (property owner) with recommendations on places to visit, to eat, and how to get the most out of our stay. Added bonus – the Owls Head General Store is next door and, as renters, we got 10% off everything, including outstanding made-to-order breakfasts, pizza, and sundries. If you stay here, don't be confused...your driveway is next to the General Store's outside dining area and everyone was polite and pleasant.The space is great – small galley kitchen with a dorm-style fridge and everything else you need, a deck with gas grill looking over the gardens, dining table, TV area with Apple TV, and a big bathroom that is built out into the main space (sounds odd but it works), comfortable beds, and more owls and heart-shaped rocks than you can count. The private garden is full of flowers, sculptures, a small "pond" with boardwalk, chairs, and another grill, and more. From the rental, it's a quick ride to the excellent Transportation Museum, Rockland, and Camden. We look forward to staying here again!

A Perfect Maine Stay

The Post Office is everything you want in a vacation rental. Charming, cozy, well thought out, and close to all the things. Our family of four (two big kids) fit well in the space. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. The garden is beautiful and the peonies and irises were popping when we were there. The hosts were accessible and had lovely recommendations of the local scene. We would definitely come back!!

Unique property in great location.

This apartment above Owls Head post office is super cute and nicely decorated. The back yard and garden is amazing. Truly beautiful. The patio overlooking the garden was so nice for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The kitchen was well equipped. We would have given it easily 5 stars if it wasn't for all the dog hair on all the rugs, throw blankets and pillows in the couch.

Beautiful property for a long weekend

The Post Office was a great place for us to spend a long weekend and explore the coast. Everything we needed was there, we enjoyed the fire pit and having access to the grill. We walked to the lighthouse which was a nice chill outing, then headed up to Acadia on the other full day we had, about a two hour drive but doable as a day trip. Communication was great and the space felt very homey!

Wonderful!

The charming home above the village post office was unique and provided clean, quiet, and comfortable accommodations. The deck and back yard were beautiful places to relax and have some peaceful moments. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was large so there was plenty of room for three ladies to have counter space. Three of the beds require going up ladders which adds to the charm, but may limit who can sleep on the upper levels. The top level is surrounded by windows with beautiful views - it was like sleeping in a tree house but with the convenience of being indoors. The home is conveniently located to drive to see all the beauty of East coast and inner Maine. The Owl’s Head Lighthouse was a favorite and is only a short walk. The Host was amazing and responded quickly when we couldn’t find the coffee that was on a shelf we walked right by. The cute General Store is next door where you can get almost anything including food and drinks. Be sure to make reservations to eat at Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park and to watch the sunset from Cadillac Mountain. Also, great lobster at McCloons and Claws which are nearby. And, go see the McDonald’s in a house in Portland! I highly recommend staying at the Owl’s Head Post Office.
