Family Beach House in Onset - walk to beaches

Relax with the whole family at this spacious, updated cottage steps to a private association beach in Onset “the gateway to Cape Cod”. Enjoy your morning coffee from the sunroom with views of the bay.

The spacious living room has a large TV for movie nights and seating for 6. We also have a well-stocked cabinet with cards, puzzles, and board games.

The kitchen/dining area has a large table and the kitchen is fully equipped including pots, pans, cutlery, kitchen tools and gadgets, and dinnerware.

There are two full bathrooms with showers (no tubs), one of which is en suite to a queen bedroom. All bedrooms have bedding, linens, new mattresses, and either dressers or benches to store your belongings. There are window AC units in each bedroom and the sunroom (June-Sept).

The bunk room also has a smart TV.

This is indoor and outdoor living at its best with WiFi and Smart TV, deck, patio, fire pit, hammock, and gas grill. Plenty of room for yard games (corn hole, bocce, ladder toss and some others are available). Walk to the Nanumett private beach 4 houses away, or venture into Onset Village for the main beach, restaurants, lobster rolls, and ice cream shops.

We supply beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, and a beach wagon buggy for guests' use.

Nearby kayak rental, bridge to Cape Cod, public golf course, Water Whizz water park, mini golf, go-karts, deep sea fishing, whale watching, canal cruises, and ferries to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

Guest agrees to house rules including trash/recycling responsibility and fridge clean out prior to check out.

We’ve stocked up the house with some of our favorite board games for those rainy days.

We supply beach towels, beach chairs and a beach wagon buggy for guests' use.

Nearby kayak rental, bridge to Cape Cod, public golf course, water park, deep sea fishing, whale watching, canal cruises, and ferries to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

For visits during the fall and winter, enjoy the local antique scene, New England fall activities like apple picking, or day trips to Plymouth, Boston or New Bedford.

- No parties, gatherings, or pets. - guest provides their own firewood for fire pit. - Must follow Nanumett Shores Beach Association rules at the beach (no smoking, no pets)
- No candles / fires indoors (indoor fireplace is decoration only)
- No unauthorized overnight visitors (maximum occupancy/heartbeats is 6)
- Guests are responsible for taking trash /recycling bins out for Monday morning pickup
- House has a septic system. Guest agrees to only flush provided toilet tissue and abide by septic rules as noted in the home.
- store outdoor cushions when not in use and prior to checking out.
- Please wipe up spills/food in fridge! $50 fee charged if the appliance needs to be cleaned.

The perfect weekend getaway

We were a group of 6 adults (3 couples) who stayed for a weekend in Sept 2023. This house is everything as advertised, if not more! Nicole was extremely communicative and friendly. We booked the house the weekend of Hurricane Lee, so didn’t get to experience the super cute outdoor setup. However, everything inside was more than enough to entertain us. We immediately felt right at home. The beds, couches, etc.. were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was one of the best stocked houses I’ve ever stayed in. The neighborhood is beyond adorable and relaxing. We did take a quick stroll down to the bay/beach the morning we left. It was very convenient and I imagine we would have taken advantage of it even more if the weather was better. All in all, a fantastic stay. We hope to stay here again in the future! Book it. You won’t regret it!!

Wonderful Thanksgiving week

Lovely and spacious home just a few houses away from Buzzards Bay. Our visit was during November to be closer to family in the area, but we were quite cozy even during a few days with gale force winds! Even preparing our Thanksgiving meal was possible as we were pleasantly surprised at the kitchen furnishings and only needed to supply a foil roasting pan for the turkey (which we expected so this was not a letdown.) The yard is spacious, and the location would be a great spot for summer getaways. We enjoyed walking in the area, and the others we met during walks were all engaging and friendly. Some longtime visitors even shared a few oysters and clams!

My elderly mother and I needed a getaway weekend and we loved this beautiful home. It was impecably clean and had everything we could have wanted. Since the weather was cold and rainy, we spent most of our time in the home. We could not have been more comfortable. There was space to work jig saw puzzles and play games. The mattresses were extremely comfortable and I loved the shower off one of the bathrooms! The host responded quickly to our questions and was very accommodating. We will definitely visit again the next time we need a get away!

Comfortable, attractive house for vacation

We had a lovely week here - enjoying the private beach down the street; day trips to Buzzards Bay, Falmouth, and Bourne; and lazy mornings at home. The house is comfortable and has everything you need. Would highly recommend to families looking for a nice home-base for a bay vacation.

The home is beautiful - beachy, comfortable and roomy, stocked with everything you need and more! The location is perfect, with a private beach just steps away - and visible from the house. We loved the backyard firepit and hammock, and the neighborhood is peaceful and friendly. Couldn't have asked for better hosts and a more magical vacation!

Quiet and friendly neighborhood

We found ourselves staying here, just down the road from our home, for an extended length of time due to some unforeseen circumstances. The property had all the amenities needed, the owners responsive yet not the least bit intrusive. And the neighborhood is very quiet. Don’t hesitate to book this property

My family had a wonderful time. This house provides everything you need and more! It is located in a small quiet neighborhood that was easy to walk (with my 80 year old grandma) and super close to the beach. Would definitely recommend this home!

Perfect house for us!

My daughters loved our stay! The location was close to everything. The house was very clean and updated. The master shower was favorite of us all! The property is well stocked so we didn't have to go buy anything like detergents for our short stay, which I appreciated. Communication was great also and very warm. We will be back!

Our family had a wonderful 4 night stay at Pleasantville… we visited the quaint beach (just steps away from the home!), had plenty of great dinning options in Onset, the house was clean, well appointed and the owners were great to work with. We’ll be back!

Amazingly pleasant stay in Pleasantville!

Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect house and more gracious & professional hosts. Super clean, amazing layout, and all the conveniences and amenities anyone could need. Steps from the beach too. Another surprise was how friendly and welcoming the neighborhood was also. A smile and wave from all the neighbors. Shout out to TJ (didn’t get the last name) and his family specifically for such a warm welcome. The nicest family and even invited us on a boat tour! Nicole our host was so communicative throughout the rental process and throughout our stay. Her recommendations were also a big hit (Especially the cafe!). And I can’t overstate how perfect of a house layout this was, with multiple areas to hangout and enough space for our group of 6. Kudos on the Cape decor as well! We were so thankful for the experience and definitely would stay again if welcomed back! Would give it all the praise and 100 stars!

Perfect getaway

We had a great stay at pleasantville. The property was beachy and very clean. Perfect for our family of 6. We had an awesome time using the large yard playing games and had a fire pit one night. The beach was beautiful and quiet- Just a few steps from the house. The property owner was quick with responding to questions and super accommodating. We will definitely rent again!
