Welcome to the Sanderling Cottage! This completely remodeled 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cozy cottage (sleeps 6) is dog-friendly, and located just a short 10-minute walk from the Village and Pier Area on St. Simons Island. This newly renovated vacation rental features a well-equipped kitchen that opens to a spacious living/dining area which overlooks the beautiful backyard.

Any group gatherings and events at this property are limited to the number of occupants (6 persons). Events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, etc. are not permitted.

You may use your credit for bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach carts, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and even experiences with select vendors! – the choice is yours!

There is a separate living room, primary bedroom with king bed, guest bedroom with two twin beds, and third bedroom with a queen Murphy bed that easily be converted to an office or lounging area. The large privacy fenced back yard is a perfect place for relaxing, letting the kids play games, or for the family dog to run around! Situated in a quiet locals neighborhood, it has easy access to the many bicycle and walking paths that St Simons Island has to offer. Giving guests the feeling of being away from it all, but within 5 minutes of everything!

Home is located in a great area close to south beach. Kids were able to ride their bikes to the village. The layout of the home is perfect for families. Nice back yard and comfy beds. Wonderful hot showers! We would stay here again

Love this property! It is the perfect location for me and my dogs to walk to the pier everyday. When we aren’t doing that, we enjoy the backyard and front gated porch! Management is very responsive and the property is clean and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back!

Perfect spot!

The property was beautiful in a quiet neighborhood, our dogs loved playing in the backyard. The house is a 20 minute walk from Pier village, where there is shopping and restaurants. And it was an 8 minute drive to the coastguard beach, which has bathrooms on site. The kitchen was fully stocked making cooking at the house a breeze.

Great Christmas Stay

we had a lovely time at the house over Christmas. the house was well lit, kitchen fully stocked with all the equipment we needed, and the layout of the home was very spread out. our dog loved the wide open backyard. the house was close to the pier area and had easy access to everything on the island. we would give the house 5 stars and would definitely stay here again.

Coastal Georgia vacation

Sanderling Cottage was great. So close the the lighthouse area and the wharf. Short drive over to East Beach. The cottage was comfortable and clean and just the right size for five of us. We would’ve liked a regular bed in the 3rd bedroom instead of the Murphy Bed. It was a bit creaky and not as comfortable. The yard was beautiful and great for our pup. We would definitely stay again!

Just what we needed

The house was perfect for what we were looking for during our stay. Everything was very clean and all items we needed were provided. Communication with the host was very prompt. We also appreciated the gear rental services provided that dropped off bikes at the house for our stay duration. The neighborhood was very safe for bike riding/walking around with a 2 year old. We also liked the layout of the house where two groups of people could stay on opposite sides of the house for extra noise control. The fenced in backyard was also enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

What a Wonderful Cottage.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Sanderling Cottage! So peaceful and quiet, even with the airport close by. Everything one could need was provided: very clean, very well decorated, just the best spot for my DH, myself and my sister (this was a Silly Sisters' Vacation/Birthdays' Adventure). Great dog friendly place ever

The house was really adorable. But I fell in love with the backyard stayed out there for hours sitting underneath the oak tree and their chairs. Just put a fan on me and you could stay all day and my dogs absolutely loved being back there. The kitchen had everything you needed to make dinners at home The master bedroom the bed was very very comfortable, and I fell in love with their sheets. In fact, I took a picture so I can order them for my bed at home. Will come back

Perfect for Dog Owners

This property was wonderful for us traveling with our dog. The back yard was perfect for him to run and play with his ball. The house was well appointed and very clean. Great house

This property was clean, well maintained and spacious. Big fenced in backyard was perfect for our dog and the hammock was my daughter's favorite spot! Upon our first shower we noticed that the drain was very slow. We contacted the property manager and it was fixed immediately. They were great in communicating. We would definitely stay here again!

Loved St Simon Island

Check in and check out was very easy. Great location in a quiet neighborhood and not far from downtown pier. The backyard was great for the fur baby. The house was nice and clean. If we ever find ourselves back in SSI we would definitely rent again!

Excellent - except….

Internet and cable issues as mentioned by several others. Maybe this is a SSI issue rather than a property specific issue since we stayed on SSI earlier in the year and had the same problem with another property (not associated with Lilmar). Very clean, nice neighborhood, comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen, and prompt communication with Lilmar (they did their best to resolve the issue). I think this will be our last visit to SSI - but don’t let this stop you if communication with the outside world is not a priority for you!

Cute and CLEAN bungalow, perfect for a week getaway!

We stayed for a week in June at the Sanderling Cottage and we love this place! First off, it is the cleanest rental we’ve ever stayed in…not even dust bunnies on the wicker furniture! We had 2 kids, 2 parents, and 1 grandparent, and this cottage was the perfect size for us all to have separate spaces but be cozy together during gathering times. Perfect backyard for our very large dog…actual grass in the backyard and very sturdy fence. The owners have truly thought of everything and anticipated every need. The location is central to all the things we were there for…7 minute drive to East Beach, 3 minutes to the village, and far enough away to be quiet and private. We will 100% book to stay here the next time we come to SSI!

Not recommending this property even though it is a well stocked house.

Have to say I didn’t know we were right in the front yard of the airport. Crazy noise along with the construction across the street. I had a dog and this really should have been stated by the property manager. It was freezing this week we were here and the heat couldn’t keep up with cold. Half the windows in the house had the cold and moisture coming right though! Soaking wet windows and crazy cold! No cable ; just a lot of free channels offering nothing… the combo lock at the back door only worked twice during our stay which really had me wondering if someone else had access while we were there. The dishwasher only worked in one specific mode and it took 3 times to figure that out! Some instructions on the dishwasher, and Murphy bed would have been appreciated. The amount of money we were charged for off season- and then freezing on top of it- was totally ridiculous considering the issues. I do not recommend this property.

Wonderful Property (BUT)

The property was absolutely wonderful in every regard except one. We had a big problem with the internet service, which also sometimes affected the television service. We contacted the property manager who was very nice and promptly brought a "mobile hot spot", which gave us a second internet option, but that too failed from time to time. In previous comments on this site and otherwise it seems that the problem with the internet service has been known. Again the property was otherwise perfect as to cleanliness, location, neighborhood and as equipped. However if I was to stay in St. Simons again I would want some assurance beforehand that the internet service had been corrected. If I were a professional on vacation or just a person that uses the internet a lot, I would not be satisfied with the current internet service.
