Auggie's home in Mississippi

  • This 2017 built home overlooks the beautiful Mississippi River. It is located 15 minutes from La Crosse W, 15 miles from New Albin, and 27 miles from Lansing, IA. It is within a mile distance from a boat launch and about 3 miles of a public boat launch away Wild Cat Campground. This area is host to whitetail deer, wild turkeys, bass, northern pike, walleye, and various pan fish. Our home is right on the Mississippi River Trail for bike riders. (The house is only available in summers..we live here in the winter.)

    There is room to park your boat and outdoor electric hook-up to charge it. Though the master suite is not included in the rental, there is room for 6 in beds (upstairs) and more if you want to bring an air mattress/sleep on couches. If available, rent apartment as well and there are two more queen sized beds available in the same dwelling.

    Our house is along Mississippi Pool 8 area. There are many local and major league (Bass Master Elite, Bass Master Open and Major League Fishing) fishing tournaments in this pool. If you like walleye, northern pike or pan fishing, it is possible here too.

    Situated in a driftless region, this area is home to scenic bluffs and valleys with gorgeous views from both Minnesota and Wisconsin. We are 15 min from downtown La Crosse, WI and 15 minutes from the Iowa border. The area also boasts wonderful trout streams for fly fishing enthusiasts. White tail deer and Eastern wild turkeys make their home here and offer memory making hunting and/or scouting opportunities for interested individuals. In the fall, many people travel here to see the swans/other birds in the sanctuary south of Brownsville. We commonly see eagles and pelicans all summer long.

    This house is along Mississippi Pool 8 area. There are many local and major league (Bass Master Elite, Bass Master Open and Major League Fishing) fishing tournaments in this pool during the summer months.

    It is a truly beautiful and peaceful rural location with quick access to a bigger city and all the options you expect to find there. You may see, and hear, barges and/or trains going up and down the river hauling their loads. (The train crossings are over a mile away, so their horns can be heard, but most guests indicate they are not too intrusive. )

This property was perfect for our needs! Not far from LaCrosse and near a boat launch. There’s also a turnaround, which made it easy for driving with our boat and trailer, and plenty of parking for several vehicles.The photos for this listing really don’t do the interior justice. It’s lovely inside, with lots of space. We were also thankful they had extras of a couple things we forgot, like plastic wrap for food. All in all, a lovely stay. We’d stay here again.

Amazing house and location!

We rented this home for family weekend at University of Wisconsin La Crosse and it was a great location! The home was very clean and beautiful! Paula was wonderful to work with and responded quickly to any questions! We will definitely stay here again!

Great home on the Mississippi

This was a very nice home fronting the Mississippi. It had plenty of room for our family of 5 and we were only a few minutes from a local boat launch and a short drive to LaCrosse. The cookies were also a very nice touch.

Glorious Views of the Mississippi

If we could give this rental 10 gold stars we would! Home is clean and spacious, parking was perfect for our boat as well. Homeowners were by far the best part of the whole week long experience. Certainly going to visit with them again!! We will definitely stay here again.

Perfect Accomodations

We loved this space for our weekend! The house is super clean, very spacious, and had absolutely everything we needed. The host was so friendly and super responsive when I thanked her upon arrival. The pictures don’t do it justice, the view was lovely. I highly recommend!

Auggie’s home

Great time at Auggie’s home on the Mississippi River. Great location, clean, and great home to stay with family. Only thing I’d mention is there are family pictures all over of which I understand it’s a family home, but yet a little awkward. Easy use lock and entrance and plenty of room to park with vehicles/boats.

Lovely stay at top property

Went to La Crosse for a bike race. This home has everything we needed including laundry for race clothes! Beautiful view of the Mississippi River! Property owner responded promptly to any questions. Would stay there again.

Fishing the Mississippi

This is our second time at this house. The view is great and it's super close to the boat ramp at Lawrence Lake Marina. Saxon's is right down the road and has great pizza and appetizers. (loaded tater tots are a must).

Tony's graduation at UWLAX

Impressive, not just in stature or luxury but the overall experience with these hosts made our stay perfect. I just wish we'd discovered this place years ago. Our youngest Son graduated from UWLAX Saturday and moved back home so now we have no real need to visit the area but will keep it in our "keeper" file. Thanks again!

Beautiful view and beautiful house

Very comfortable and clean! After a couple days of walking around, it was nice for each of us to have a chair to relax in, recline and lift our feet up! From the living room, we also saw several of the large Mississippi Riverboats go by all lit up.

Beautiful home in a great location

We came for an event in LaCrosse - it was a quick and easy 20 minute drive - perfect! The home has everything you can think of - and very comfortable beds! The directions for getting in are really easy and Paula was super responsive and great to work with. I’d recommend staying here again - it’d be perfect for a girls trip The views of the river are stunning!!
