Goldenrose is a home. A home for others to enjoy as their home away from home. A getaway, a city escape, a place to recharge and enjoy with loved ones. For this purpose, WE DO NOT HAVE WIFI!!

A TV / DVD, though yes, and you are most welcome to bring your favorite movies to play in an evening. Or find a old favourite In the box of plenty we have on hand.
But this was not your reason for getting away, this is what you wanted...

This English style Cottage is a perfect getaway if you are looking for a comfortable ambient space to relax unwind and enjoy some peace & quiet. Two double rooms with Queen beds and Linen designed for comfort & more importantly a good night's sleep.
Note our cottage is not ideal for large numbers, we would like to point out we are comfortably a two bedroom guest cottage. The back room is a sleep out and can be prone to cold in winter and heat in Summer. (We only have a pedestal fan for summer heat) Please consider your numbers when booking we do not like to have more than the 6 person detail.

Reverse cycle aircon is big enough to make the whole house comfortable in the summer and winter (although you can not beat the heat of the potbelly in winter) Please note our potbelly only has a 4hr max burn, it does not last through the night. So this can be annoying as in winter it can be felt when it expires. So do keep the Fujitsu on also for those extra chilly nights in winter month’s.

A nice big country kitchen with chefs oven on hand for the family roast. Or if preparing cheese & nibbles is more your style the kitchen is self-contained with most kitchen appliances & equipment on hand for your own little touch on entertaining.

Then head to the lawn or decking outlook and enjoy the valley views.

It Can be cold in Winter (Bridgetown is called Fridgetown for a good reason) and the woodshed is always full in winter, you will need to be safe when chopping wood to keep the potbelly firing at all times. There are blankets stocked, this is not a place you want to get caught in with out back up plans for those extra cold nights.

Sitting around the fire pit in Winter is fun with the marshmallows and we do say please use with caution at all times. Especially if you have young children.

If the Kayaks attract your attention in summer, the Blackwood river is only 2.5km away and is a lovely experience, please use safely. It is your responsibility to get them to the river safety and provide life jackets if for you and your children. Be sure to take a backpack with water and sunscreen & a hat if you do. If you would like access to these please enquire.

There are cards and board games for those quieter evenings.

Great weekend away

We recently had a fabulous 3 night stay at this beautiful cottage. It's a close 5 minute drive to town, however you'd never know it. It is so peaceful and the views are amazing!This accommodation is so welcoming of dogs and whilst the property is not fenced, it is set back and high up from the street. We had everything we needed there and the communication from the owners was great.The only thing we thought could be improved upon was the curtains in the bedrooms. They were quite thin and in the extra bedroom/sleep out, the curtains weren't quite wide enough to cover the entire window. Winter wouldn't be so bad, however with the sun rising early in summer, we had bright bedrooms quite early. This wouldn't be a deal breaker for us though and we would definitely love to stay again.

We stayed at this property for 3 nights during Christmas break and we had enjoyed our stay. I was bit disappointed with couple of things like no WIFI or basic amenities in bathroom, but I guess its not a big deal. View was the best part.

Perfect spot in Bridgetown

Just had 4 nights at Golden Rose Cottage and everything was great - close to town, large corner block overlooking the valleys of Bridgetown from several angles (including an awesome deck), pet friendly, had that "country home charm" and was relatively private. We definitely will be back at some point. Note for pet owners - there isn't a fully enclosed yard, but it is well away from the road so as long as your 4 legged friend is relatively well trained it is a safe enough environment.

Lovely home away from home

Great location and scenic outlook, quiet, comfortable with everything I needed. The local library where I went for an hour each day to go on-line (as the property didn’t have wifi-accurately described in the listing) was a wonderful space well used by a whole age range of residents- and the main street cafes and shops are lovely. Bridgetown is friendly with good regional walks I could go daily with my dog.

Fantastic place for a quiet get away

As a family we loved the quiet and fantastic views. We were staying in the colder months and thoroughly enjoyed the views from all windows that encompassed the full valley. We all so enjoyed the mornings seeing the heavy mist among the trees. The house was extremely comfortable and the bedrooms are very large with very comfortable beds. Fireplace made it cozy. All amenities were very clean. The owners responded quick to all inquiries and kept us up to date. We had a wonderful stay and will look forward to returning again soon

Quiet and Quaint

What a wonderful step into a 1950 cottage. It had a well equipped kitchen and the bedrooms are spacious. Luxurious bed linen and towels. Dog friendly is what we loved the most even though there isnt fencing around the house, you dont need it cause the place is very elevated. Beautiful views from the outdoor verandah and deck. There is a small shop and bottleshop one km away. Host, Georgina was so good with communication. We loved Bridgetown and surrounding towns as they are very accommodating for dogs. Def recommend.

Charming country getaway

Lovely character cottage with beautiful views, large deck overlooking the valley and plenty of space for our two dogs. Lots of space for parents, adult child and teenager. Beautiful mature roses and other flowering plants. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds with tasteful linens. Quick 5 minute drive into town for provisions, a meal out or shopping. Thank you for sharing this lovely location with visitors - just what our family needed to getaway and re-connect.
