My wife and I have done our share of traveling, and Its safe to say the weekend at Horton’s Bay is the best rental experience we’ve had so far. The home itself is a delight; bad design or poor taste can’t be found, and the decor is enough to charm, but sparse enough to leave a blank canvas. (It seemed to pair well with jazz for us.) If aesthetics matter in your comfort, this is the place for you. No creepy old dolls staring at you over breakfast; there are Real books on the shelves, that you would want to (and should) read. The home’s very unique layout adds a modern touch to a classic up north vibe (very quiet and secluded in the in between summer/fall colors time we went.) It rained the entire weekend we were there, and we brought our bikes to take trips to the many beaches and state parks nearby. But with a few trips to the nearby towns, we had charcuterie boards, local jams and produce, and locally raised beef to grill, and it was a pleasure to just relax in the space. The host was pleasant, quick to respond to both questions about the home and what to do, and even kind enough to leave something for our anniversary. They mentioned being new to renting, so I can only imagine it getting better. Can’t wait to come back with the kids, or in the winter, or with friends… perfect for us!
