Luxury Cabin 4 Miles from Ski Slopes

Welcome to Chestnut Falls

Chestnut Falls is a luxury mountain cabin in a private wooded setting just 4 miles from the slopes. With finishes like tongue-and-groove ceilings, log beds, and granite countertops, this home fuses upscale adornments with mountain living.

The living room and master bedroom TV have a Smart Blu-Ray Player with streaming apps, cable service, and a DVD player. The twin bedroom also has access to streaming apps.

Located in the remote Chestnut Falls subdivision, this cabin is about a mile from the Buckeye Recreation Center, which offers indoor and outdoor tennis, an outdoor mountain-style playground, a ball field, walking, and hiking trails along Buckeye Lake. The center provides fitness classes and children's activities. Canoes and paddleboats are available and located right next to the dock at Buckeye Lake. Just visit the recreation center to rent boats and pick up your paddles and life jackets. The lake also offers a fire pit area and BBQ facilities such as picnic tables and grills.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort is located 4.5 miles of curvy mountain roads from the property, a 15-minute drive.

Important Information
- The driveway is paved, which greatly improves access. However, the town of Beech Mountain does not maintain the road to the property. Renters should prepare for driving in snow. 4WD and tire chains are necessary if accessing the property during winter weather.

Please note: There are two cameras at the property to document package delivery and monitor the trash cans for bear activity. They do not face the house where they can see inside.

*This home is dog-friendly with additional pet fees required.

Overall loved the home! Had everything we needed!The only down side we did not expect was how far on gravel road we had to travel and the steep of an incline. Only said needs 4 wheel in the winter.

Simply seclusion

We LOVED being off the beaten path in this cabin for the weekend. It was the perfect place for a low-key weekend. The hot tub was perfect temperature. The quiet was amazing. We look forward to booking this again in the future.

Great place to get away for a long weekend. It is remote and if their was snow you definitely would need 4 wheel drive and chains … lucky for us weather was great and enjoyed the outdoor fireplace… will return

Long Weekend Getaway

Well let me start with the PROS: beautiful home. Well appointed. Love having our pup with us. Very comfortable beds. Hot tub was great. CONS: The location - is FAR, like really really FAR. GPS does not find the home. The “turn by turn directions” are absolutely horrible. Don’t try to find the home in the dark, it took us over an hour!! :( NO emergency answering service for after hours help - would have been useful for us to try and find the house. The house needs a deep clean - spider webs up at ceilings, spider webs and dead bugs in the window sills when you open them for fresh air and out on the covered deck. NO exterior lights were left on for our arrival and was pitch black. The biggest thing is MAKE SURE YOU ARE OKAY WITH THE LOCATION.

Gorgeous

We had a great time the cabin is beautiful and we enjoyed the outside hot tub and fireplace every night!! We had LOTS of snow fall almost every day and it was gorgeous!! I will add do NOT even attempt to get to this cabin during the winter without tire chains or a four wheel drive vehichle as they say.

Great location

Great location, secluded near the top of the mountain. Renters will need 4 wheel drive at a minimum during winter conditions. I ended up getting chains on my 4x4 diesel truck and that did the trick as we had 7” of snow over 48 hours.

Best of the Best in comfort and cleanliness of property!

My husband, Vince, and I along with our son-in-law, Cisco, and our granddaughters, Annabel and Emmeline, stayed at this cabin from August 10 to August 13. We were able to bring our foxhound, Evie, who had a great time sniffing for other critters! Beautiful, remote, off the beaten path home. We loved it.

Perfect Mountain getaway

Beautiful cabin nestled in the woods. Perfect size for our family of 2 adults and 3 boys ages 15, 12, and 9. We enjoyed the cool mornings and hot tub on the deck. Nice fenced in side yard for the dog. Great living room with gas fireplace and wood burning outdoor fireplace. Just a couple areas for improvement: 1) master shower was not cleaned well before we arrived (lots of mildew on the shower floor). 2) Outside trash bin did not lock properly- bears came out our 2nd night, luckily only dog waste. Call Carolina Cabin Rentals and they couldn’t come out to fix it. Took a walk in the woods nearby, lots of trash dragged out there, so maybe this trash bin hasn’t locked properly for awhile.

Fantastic house

This house has everything we were looking for. Quiet seclusion, outdoor fireplace, hot tub, wooded view and great layout. The management company was wonderful to work with and very responsive. The area is beautiful. The only issue we had was getting there. We did not anticipate how far we had to drive and the condition of the roads leading to the house, the gravel roads are heavily rutted and steep and the driveway, although short, was really hard to climb in a standard SUV. Bring everything you need because you will not want to run out for a quick errand.

Peaceful and secluded

Spring Break Mountain Trip

This was our second time staying in this cabin. I love the location and the cabin itself. However it needs some good maintenance. The dryer did not work properly. Don’t expect to do laundry there. There are not enough plates and silverware. We had to do dishes after every meal so we could have clean plates. We were only given 2 dishwasher tabs. I felt like I was scrubbing dishes for half of our time there. The back door does not lock properly.

Solitude and simplicity

The cabin is everything that we expected! Clean, cozy, close enough to enjoy all the Beech Mountain amenities, but far enough away (10 minute drive) to enjoy some serious solitude! Our favorite part was the hot tub, it got daily use. The linens were comfortable, plenty of pillows, enough towels for everyone. The fireplace made it extra cozy, easy on/off gas on the inside. Outdoor fireplace is a perfect added touch! Think: wood fire... next to a bubbly hot tub... drinking a glass of wine... while it snows. Stop for some firewood on your way in. Thermostats made it easy to control temps. Outside temps vacillated between the 30’s and 60’s while we were there, so this was helpful! CO detectors and smoke detectors present and functioning. Some pointers if choosing to visit in the future (by no means complaints!): - GPS does not get you there correctly. Follow the directions sent by the cabin company! - The terrain is rough in places depending on which areas you plan to explore; muddy and slippery in the winter months if no snow; I can imagine even tougher with snow and ice. They recommend 4-wheel drive and we couldn’t agree more. - Lots of wildlife crossing roads at dusk, so use caution! - The kitchen has NO food products whatsoever. No salt and pepper; no spices; we did have a random olive oil pan spray; but do your shopping for all staples before coming to the cabin. Also, no cling wrap, foil or Tupperware for leftover storage. Fred’s Mercantile is close and can get you started. - The washer is quite noisy when running a load of laundry, so do not recommend doing it at night; not a complaint, just a warning. Again, no detergent provided. Overall we loved our stay and will certainly be back!

18th Birthday celebration

We really enjoyed our time at the cabin. There were 5 of us that stayed to celebrate our daughter's 18th birthday. As mentioned before the cabin is located off the main roads on a steep gravel road so be prepared. I would suggest making sure to have all your groceries when you arrive. The roads are very curvy and steep and will take about a 20 min drive. The first night we were there it snowed. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the outdoor fireplace. The family room was very comfortable, but cramped with the table and multiple oversized chairs. Overall we really had a great time and made some wonderful memories!

Cabin in the Woods

Nice cozy cabin, tucked away in the woods. Gravel roads and some steep drives to access the cabin so be prepared. Winter mountain views are obstructed by trees but if you look real close, they are out there. Woods all around and more deer than I have seen in the last 5 years visiting the area. Right around the corner from Beech Mountain Resort and the Buckeye Rec Center. We were there in the off season so didn't really take advantage but certainly convenient. Great places to eat in Banner Elk a short drive away.
