Oceanblock, steps to best beach in Bethany

Tower Shores North Bethany Beach, is a private beach community situated approximately 3 miles north of the town of Bethany and 4 miles south to Dewey Beach. The house is on the Ocean Beach Block, three houses from a pristine, private uncrowded beach which is adjacent to two miles of Natural Delaware Seashore State Park. The house consists of four levels with a balcony on the second floor off the living room and a larger deck on the fourth floor. The house has 4 bedrooms able to sleep 8 and 3 bathrooms (2 full bathrooms). Plus a outdoor shower with complete privacy. The house comes with wireless internet, cable television (with on demand and premium channels), air conditioning (in wall units), and ceiling fans.
The second floor is the main living area and includes a living room with balcony, large dining room, full kitchen, full bathroom. The third floor includes the master bedroom with a King bed, full bathroom, two bedrooms two twin beds each (and a small deck of the twin bedrooms) First floor with queen bed and full bathroom. Parking in car port can accommodate 2 cars.

Great place if staying at Tower Shores. Roomy place for 8 that is very near the beach. We've stayed at Tower Shores many times, and this place was one of the all-around best for this size unit. Owner was very easy to get a hold of and communicated very well with us. Will look to return again!

Mary Lynn’s home is very well-situated, mere steps to a private beach north of Bethany Beach proper. The neighborhood is entirely residential, quiet, and friendly. That proximity to the beach was the highlight, as was the well-stocked home, with plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, a charcoal grill, beach towels, and other sundry items in the home. The home is well laid-out, with one bedroom on the ground floor and the remaining three on the third floor, with kitchen, dining and living room in between, which worked well for our group. Two balconies and a roof deck provide some outdoor space to enjoy. Mary Lynn was easy to communicate with and helpful and clear in her assistance. Two items to note are that the private beach means there is no lifeguard, and that the house has window units that are used for climate control. These worked well to keep the home cool, but the one in the master bedroom was quite loud.

Everything you would need for a beach stay

This is a gem in Tower Shores. Reasonably priced 4 BR, 2.5 bath, bonus outdoor shower & all supplies you would need for a weeks vacation w/up to 8 ppl. The home is located in a safe area w/close knit community members. Tower Shores people are friendly, respectful, & look out for one another. The home is very comfortable. Decore was nice & beachy. Supplies were abundant. The owner makes sure you have everything you need for your stay & more. I've never experienced better hospitality in any stays anywhere in 30yrs. The owner is just so sweet/caring. Also you are like 10 steps from the beach staying here. Running back &forth from the beach is a breeze. Perfect for families w/small children where you may need to be closest to the beach. Setting things up in the morning @the beach was easy w/all the chairs, umbrellas, towels & fun stuff (like boogie board/skim board) provided. As for lounging back at the house, we enjoyed the main front deck in the morning for coffee & had a family dinner on the 4th floor top deck where we could watch the sun set. Every morning we enjoyed cooking breakfast in the decent sized kitchen. Also, the resteraunt (which is like 50 steps away) is excellent! We really liked this place/area. If in Bethany Beach again, I will reach out to this fantastic owner about another stay! My only suggestion is that the owner provide access to a sweeper/vacuum incase guests want to respectfully vacuum up sand etc. &The back decks need chairs & place to hang wet suits.

Perfect Place! Pinterest cute! Already booked next August!

This adorable place has the 4 C’s-it’s cute, cozy, comfortable and clean!! We’ve been vacationing in Bethany Beach for over 10 years and this is by far the best place we have stayed. Our good friends told us about this place as they have stayed here for the past 5 summers and luckily there was an opening at the end of August! House has everything you need and many extras. So nice not to have to bring beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, beach towels, a pack & play, board games, paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent etc etc. And the cutest navy and white outdoor furniture!! It’s not right on the beach (that is much more expensive!) but just a minute or two walk away. Again, beach wagon!! carried our littles and all our beach gear!! Host Mary Lynn is super nice and super helpful. Helped us find great places for fishing, boating, golf and restaurants. Great experience, highly recommend!!

This one is on repeat!

Great views and private - out of the hubbub of the nearby crowded public beaches but easy access to nearby towns for dinners out. I fly in, so love that beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels are provided. WiFi makes it easy to work and play. Clean and neat with plenty of space for friends or family. Kitchen and large dining room make it possible to enjoy meals in too. Outstanding value for the location.

House was dirty and in disrepair

The location of the house was as described, great in tower shores and near the beach. The house itself however looks much nicer on the pictures than it presented in person. The house was in disrepair when we arrived and had not been cleaned well. The floors were so dirty that our feet were black walking barefoot inside. The entire house smelled mildewed from the ac units, which were all dirty and very loud. The main floor ac was leaking onto the main floor deck so a pool of standing water was rendering half of the deck unusable. It must have been there for some time because there was algae on the deck. Thr railings were all dangerously loose. The washing machine smelled strongly of mildew, which I could smell just walking into the laundry room, so we didn’t use it, and the hand towels and beach towels promised were all in dryer and the soap bottles were all empty. The kitchen was well stocked but the pans were very old. It was all just disorganized and messy. The lower level bedroom ac unit was so loud that the family staying in that room decided to leave and get a hotel after 3 nights there. We expressed our complaints to the owner and she refunded our cleaning fee which was appreciated and sent her repairman, who was there with a team of 3 men making repairs for two days throughout the house. Extremely disruptive and it warranted a partial refund which they declined. Instead they wanted me to submit a dispute through VRBO which was a dead end.

Mary Lynn was a super responsive host and the house is stocked with spices and some towels and lots of kitchen supplies. There are puzzles and books and beach supplies too. There is no central A/C but the room units do the job!

Generous Accommodations

My family of eight stayed a week—Three generations under one roof. The location was perfect for us, especially with two kiddos, six and four. The host made us feel very welcome by providing a curated list of area shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. In some rental units, we’ve had to provide our own beach towels, but this host provided plenty. It was also a great bonus that there were beach chairs, toys etc, as well as paper products: paper towels, TP, plates, napkins. The host checked-in with us to see how we were doing and make sure we knew about a special concert and fireworks timing. So appreciated!

Great Location

We had a wonderful stay here! We had a few issues at first; we weren’t able to check in on time among other things but Mary Lynn truly is a wonderful host and super communicative. She will check in with you and do everything in her power to make sure you have a nice vacation! I’d feel very comfortable renting from her again. Some pros: House is very well stocked with towels, soaps, beach items, toys, brand new games (we played many!), etc. Location of the house is amazing. Outdoor shower was spacious & clean. Layout of the house is very nice for separate families/couples. Beds are very comfortable! Outdoor decks and furniture are very nice. 😊 Some things to be aware of: As seen in photos, there is no central AC, so the wall AC units will be loud (my kids had to adjust to this for sleeping). I do think the house needs a little TLC and updating here and there. There’s not many hooks for hanging towels which we all noticed. Also, there’s no curtains on the main level so no privacy (bring a sheet to tack up if you wish). Overall, we had a wonderful week and the property has a lot of potential and the location can’t be beat. Thank you for letting us stay!

We had a great stay! Great location! Steps to a beautiful clean beach. Easy drive to shops, restaurants, attractions. House was comfortable. Well equiped kitchen, essential supplies provided, comfortable beds. Disappointed that the grill was not in great condition (rusty grates). Beach chairs and umbrellas weren't in great shape, only one umbrella worked properly. Mary Lynn was very responsive and made check in and check out easy.

Our favorite beach place

This is our one and only beach place. Nice, clean & so close to the beach. Perfect place for families, enough room for everybody. Stocked with everything you need including beach wagon for hauling gear to the beach. Already booked again in September. One note-it is 4 stories (great top deck) which was a little tough for my 70+ MIL.

Great Place to Stay

Only steps away from beach access which made traveling with 5 small children much easier! Had beach wagon, umbrellas, chairs, and toys available to keep everyone comfortable and entertained. Only a 2-3 minute walk to Matt's restaurant for a nice quality meal. Would stay here again.

Perfect Spot in North Bethany

In addition to the quiet location (just a 10-min drive in either direction to Dewey or Bethany), we loved the easy access to the beach. The townhouse had more than enough room our family of 5, it was well stocked with beach towels, chairs, toys and umbrellas. Mary was super responsive and helpful. A great week!
