Cheviot Cottage is an attractive, single-storey cottage for two nestled within the charming Bluebell Farm caravan park in the heart of Belford. With four steps leading to its entrance the accommodation benefits from then being all on one level. If needed, there is a public launderette in adjoining premises.

A warm welcome greets guests in Belford; often described as “the Gateway to the Secret Kingdom” it offers many facilities including pubs/cafés serving food, shops, a small hotel, and bus and taxi services. The picturesque coastal village of Bamburgh, dominated by its majestic fortress and wide expanse of golden, sandy sweeping beach is a mere 6 miles east.

The friendly market town of Wooler, nestled at the foot of the Cheviot Hills is 10 miles west - a popular destination for those who enjoy cycling, hang-gliding, golf, horse-riding and walking, with the challenging route of the St Cuthbert’s Way running close by. Chatton Trout Fishery invites amateur anglers to fish without a rod licence in a picturesque 4-acre lake just 5 miles away. Belford is positioned less than a half mile west of the A1, equidistant between the elegant Georgian town of Berwick which straddles the salmon-rich River Tweed to the north, and the cobbled, market town of Alnwick, protected by its dramatic castle to the south - both offering a wide array of amenities only 15 miles away. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction to see the Grand Cascade Waterfall and dine in the restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. Cheviot Cottage provides an excellent base for couples wishing to explore both the wide expanse of beautiful countryside across north Northumberland along with easy access to miles of golden, Heritage coastline.

Great chippy!

Location ideal for visiting the spectacular Northumberland coast line and towns. Although the weather not too kind we largely managed to avoid the rain during our numerous walks. Great for wildlife, birders will love it. Accommodation was clean comfy but if we're honest and we mean this respectfully it is in need of bringing up to date, lick of paint, coat hooks screwing back on, extra blankets would be a bonus as would a new set of pots and pans. Oh, and the oven also needs a good internal clean. Overall though we loved the setting and location. Host was very helpful and communication good.

Great location and bird life

I had a lovely week's stay in Cheviot Cottage. The bed was comfortable and the shower excellent. It was really nicely placed for visiting the Northumbrian coast, with it's miles of walks, and Lindisfarne. My only slight complaint would be that some of the crockery was not as clean as it could be, but there was no washing up liquid, cloth or brush provided. I bought my own, when I realised. As I did with a bath towel, having not seen the comment that towels were not provided (but available) at the bottom of the small print. Overall I would stay here again. I loved the free ranging birds around the property and hearing the Mynah bird whistling!
