This cabin is made for rest, reconnection, and rejuvenation:

For entertainment, the living room and bedroom both feature Smart TVs with streaming services, ready for family movie nights. Starlink high speed internet ensures you stay connected while enjoying your peaceful retreat. The office closet is stocked with books, puzzles, and games for all ages—plus toys, coloring supplies, and activity books just for kids.

Nestled on one acre in Forest Lakes, just outside Durango and near Lake Vallecito, this home has adventure in every direction. Step into a stress-free getaway, perfect for families and furry friends! Book now and experience the magic of this inviting retreat!

WHERE YOU'LL SLEEP:
* Master Bedroom - King with smart TV and Ensuite Bath (Upstairs)
* 2nd Bedroom- King (Upstairs)
* 3rd Bedroom - Bunk bed with Full on bottom, Twin on top - (Upstairs)
* Living Room - Sleeper Sofa - main level

LOCATION: The Forest Lakes community is 8 miles North of Bayfield, and 8 miles South of Lake Vallecito Recreation Area. Forest Lakes also has a playground and neighborhood lake for fishing - Lake Simpatico - with a walking trail around the lake. This home is approximately 20 miles from downtown Durango, 15 miles from Sky Ute Casino, and 50 miles from Pagosa Springs. There is plenty of dining, unique shops, and outdoor recreation in the surrounding area.

PETS: This home is pet friendly! Dogs will be excited to explore their very own space in a fenced back yard. After a full day, they can cuddle with you on soft blankets or rest on a cozy dog bed. We allow up to 2 dogs. The pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Pets must be crated if they are left home alone.

COOLING: Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s. There are pedestal fans in each bedroom and an evaporative cooler in the main king bedroom.

GOOD TO KNOW:
There is a ring camera at the front door entry only.
During winter storm events 4WD is required.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.

VRC CANCELLATION POLICY: If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

The house had everything we needed plus. We all enjoyed the location and scenery. We enjoyed some hiking, shopping and of course the Polar Express.

Everything was perfect besides the hot tub & a bathroom wasn’t useable when we checked in. Maintenance came to clean the hot tub on Tuesday, was told the tub was HALF drained and refilled after we had told the hosts about the hot tub smelling like cat PISS & dried my partners skin out gave her rashes. I didn’t get into the tub because I was hunting that week. Obviously the tub wasn’t cleaned good enough the first time, host said tub was clean but discoloration around a hot tub doesn’t say “clean” to myself or my partner. My partner wasn’t dirty when getting into the tub, after many came Tuesday and half cleaned it my partner got into the tub thinking it was clean, she had more rashes appear again! my partner had to talk to the VacationRentalCollective DIRECTOR and he told her that it was basically her fault for the hot tub being dirty he apologized at the END of their convo. We checked in on the 9th SUNDAY our first night & the photos of the hot tub on the 10th say otherwise…not cleaned good enough..PLS make sure you watch them DRAIN&refill the tub because you don’t want them to half drain the dirty water and half refill with clean water & chemicals like they did to us..

Nice location. Got to see turkeys and deer. House was very nice and use of garage was a big bonus. Only complaint was the smaller bathroom upstairs. My friends said they almost slipped in the bath tub. Not a game changer though. Parking decent for two trucks with UTV trailers. Drove UTVs to Lake Vallecito and rode a trail that was off of the 501A. Would stay there again.

Beautiful place

We stayed here for a week. It was so nice. Rooms were nice. Fully stocked with everything you need. Played corn hole nearly every day with the kids. We liked the hot tub. I sat on porch early in mornings and it was so peaceful. We were able to go to Durango and ride the train. Went to Silverton for the 100 year old mine. This was a nice trip.

Okay, here's a review you can use for the house in Bayfield:A Perfect Getaway for Large Families!Our recent stay at this Bayfield house was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we walked in, we were struck by how roomy and yet incredibly cozy the home felt. It was the ideal setup for our big family, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax.The great kitchen was truly a highlight. It was well-equipped with great appliances, making meal preparation for a crowd a breeze. We especially appreciated the abundance of counter space and the large dining area where we could all gather.After a day of exploring Bayfield, the nice hot tub was a welcome treat! It was the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.Overall, this house exceeded our expectations. It provided the perfect blend of comfort, space, and amenities for a large family vacation. We highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again!

Family Getaway

Had a great 5 night stay here! Beautiful property and the perfect place to relax and recharge. Enjoyed the hot tub and watching the neighborhood deer and turkeys. The kitchen was nicely stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans and baking sheets and a grill outside. Plenty of space in common areas for the whole family! Loved our time here and was sad to leave!

Quite Rural Location

We stayed for 5 nights for our visit to the Durango area. The house is large, well laid out with common areas on the ground floor and bedrooms upstairs. We enjoyed the hot tub. We were unable to find towels for the hot tub so we used the bath towels. There were no napkins so we used paper towels. There was no coffee or creamer. The igniter on the gas grill does not work so we found a small cigarette lighter in the wood burning fireplace box which was difficult to light the grill. A remote garage door opener would be nice for inclement weather. The bath tub in the main bathroom upstairs drains very slowly. The toilet on the main floor fills very slowly. Overall, a few minor inconviences but we enjoyed our stay.

Peaceful neighborhood close to Durango!

The home was comfortable, clean, and had plenty of cooking gear. The hot tub was perfect on a cool evening! Close to Durango and also to Vallecito reservoir. The neighborhood has its own park and walking trail. We loved it!

New Year’s Getaway

We had a wonderful and cozy stay. It snowed while we were there, and the yard was great for playing in the snow. The house was most accommodating and homey. We loved the open floor plan and bedrooms upstairs. The dogs loved playing outside in their own space. We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Everything was great the only thing that i would of liked was a insta hot hot water heater we ran out of hot water like 15 mins into our showers and there wasnt enough hot water to even shave other then that everything else was great and relaxing which was what we were looking for.

The hot tub was over treated with chemicals, the hot tub had sand all over the bottom of it, there were dirty underwear in the bedroom closet, the trash can keys were missing (so trash piled up in the garage stinking it up, the sheets were dirty on the pull out couch, but otherwise the house was great. The location was quiet and the wildlife was amazing. The kitchen was well equipped for use, the grill was convenient (but was filty and caught fire so my husband had to clean it), the beds were comfortable, the pillows were ok, but really need replaced, and the the decor was beautiful!
