Take a break at this unique and tranquil place in lost pines, beautiful tall pine trees. Only 5 minutes to Bastrop Lake where you can fish or just take a swim. 14 minutes from historic downtown Bastrop. Good bbq at Southside Bbq. Only 25 minutes to Cota Formula 1 - 45 minutes to Downtown Austin.

Very nice and quiet. The ONLY problem was that, when we first arrived on the afternoon of May 17th, the smoke detector in the kitchen was hanging from the ceiling by its electrical wire and the detector was chirping due to no battery. Not a good first impression as my brother had died in a house fire the week before. I immediately notified Luis, who assured me that the detector would be fixed. On Sunday afternoon (May 18th), after a few more communications with Luis, the detector had been reinstalled, but had no power and still no battery. We had no confidence that the smoke detector in the bedroom would work. We found it necessary to check out a day early.

Drove in late Friday wasn’t a problem with the owner, house was clean bed was clean shower was clean over all a pretty quiet neighborhood and was a great place to stay while we enjoyed the local renaissance festival i give It a 10/10

Overall I enjoyed my stay but as feedback for this property owner, I feel obligated to let them know about some issues below: The unit could use some added attention to cleanliness. The bed linens (pillows, duvet) could use replacing and/or a really good washing. I had to use my own pillow because the pillows smelled like dirty hair and I had to turn the duvet upside down because one of the corners smelled like bad body odor. The bed sheets were clean, but the items contained in the clean linens smelled bad. There were also few ants crawling around the kitchen. This is understandable with the unit being in the 'country' and in a sandy red clay soil area, but the property owner may want to address this issue before it gets too bad, as there were also many many tiny fire ant holes and small hills. When I opened the blinds to let some fresh air in most of them came crashing down because some of them did not have the brackets on top to hold them in place. There was also damage to one of the blinds like some animal chewed it away. Half of the windows did not have screens to keep the bugs out. Also as an FYI to other guests. This rental unit is on land very close to other guests. It was not a huge deal, but I did not expect there to be an RV extremely close to my rental unit, which detracted from some of the privacy and peace and quiet. Overall I enjoyed my stay but if it were not for the things listed above (and a couple more things), it would have been amazing.

Did not have any tv service although this may not have been the owners fault as at&t were apparently working in the area at some time. Unfamiliar with the hvac system and could not get it to deliver comfortable temps. Would suggest an instruction sheet on how to use tv and hvac be left for renters’ use. Fencing around property should be completed to give more privacy.

We were looking for a quiet place to get out of the rat race and Sophie’s Cabin got the bill! We were mere minutes from Lake Bastrop’s south and north park. Want some R&R? This is a good place for it!

Everything was perfect. Very nice little cabin in the woods, very nice and comfortable furniture. Only issue was Google maps had some trouble finding the property but that’s par for the course in this part of Bastrop county and not the owners fault. Felt very safe and secluded. Would recommend to anyone else looking for a rental in this area.
