Extremely Disappointing
There were a number of issues with this property. I attempted multiple times to address them with the host, and was met with gaslighting, no response or empty promises.
The issues were:
No heat/climate control for the entirety of our stay.
No wireless/internet for the majority of our stay
The front door knob broke the first night as we were leaving for dinner, making it difficult to open the door and unsafe in the event of an emergency.
Closet door was off the hinges and lying on the ground when we arrived.
Water damage/peeling and bubbling paint in the kitchen
Missing blinds on window overlooking a busy street and other apartments
No light in common hallways leading to the apartment, making it unsafe to arrive/leave after dark
Promise of "maintenance " being contacted but nothing was addressed
Unresponsive/ineffective owner who couldn't/wouldn't address issues.
All of these issues were brought to the attention of the host the first afternoon, most within the first hour of us arriving and yet we still had the same issues as we left.
We would have booked a hotel, but it was UMaine parents weekend and most everything was sold out.
We filed a complaint with VRBO, but this host is being "unresponive" to their attempts to communicate.
This is an unsafe and uncomfortable unit, and should be removed from listing until the issues are reasonably resolved.
