The Gingerbread Cottage - 2.5 acres, craft or meeting room

Perfect mountain retreat home located on the outskirts of Bailey, CO. Great for families, crafting groups, special interest groups/retreats, friends and more. Quiet location! House located on 2.5 acres of private wooded land. Lots of wildlife. Privacy from neighbors. Great home for a quiet retreat or home base for a schedule of exploring. Within a reasonable distance of lots of Colorado beauty, historic towns, Denver and much more! There is something nearby for everyone whether you are into skiing, fishing, hiking, wildlife, history, shops, museums, concerts, etc...

The home is well appointed with a fully stocked kitchen including utensils, paper products, cookware, cooking ingredients, coffee, and snacks. Each of the 3 bedrooms have plenty of beds for everyone in your group along with cozy linens. The 2 bathrooms inside the home are furnished with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash, feminine products, facial cleansers, body lotion and more. There are a variety of common spaces that can be used for watching TV/movies, dining, relaxing and creating. Please note that the home itself has 2 bathrooms with showers. The crafting workshop/meeting room above the garage hosts the third bathroom. Access to this additional space is optional with your reservation at the rate of $75/night.

The home is located near a state park, fishing, hiking, historical towns, and much more. Located within a 30 minute drive from the Colorado Trail; 45 minutes away from Red Rocks Amphitheater; 1 hr 20 minutes away from skiing in Breckenridge, Keystone or Loveland; between a 1-2 hour drive to some of Colorado's fourteeners such as Mount Bierstadt, Quandary Peak, Torreys Peak and Grays Peak. Not to mention about 1.5 hour drive to Buena Vista's hot springs. Conveniently located within an hour drive of Denver and 1.5 hours from Denver International Airport

The following rules apply to our property and fines if broken:
-NO pets
-NO outdoor fires/firepits (except for the gas one provided)
-NO smoking
-NO motorcycles, ATVS, RVs or trailers


The crafting workshop/meeting room above the garage is available to be included in your rental at the rate of $75/night. This space hosts the third bathroom with shower.

Everything was amazing and we felt right at home! We will definitely be back!! Amenities were amazing and the only thing we needed to bring was food! The deer came right to us the first night and visited everyday up until the day before we left, the kids loved it!

Good Family Rental

My family and I stayed 6 nights and really enjoyed the area. It’s a good location if you just want to be out from the city. The cabin is fully stocked so you save a lot of time and money not having to run to Safeway for things like toilet paper and sandwich bags. The fully supplied kitchen is also helpful as you can actually comfortably cook here. The play set outside was a huge hit for my two young kids.

Magical Family Christmas Holiday

We stayed here for a week between Christmas and New Year’s and had a blast in the house and the local community. The house is well-appointed with drinks and snacks, soaps and shampoos, fully made comfortable beds, plenty of linens, and has a full laundry, handy for longer stays or stops on longer trips. We didn’t use the workshop but it is well-appointed and seems like it would be a very productive work/share space with a full bath and kitchen. Beautiful property with Mule deer passing through and saying hello daily. We enjoyed a heavy snowfall half-way through the week that saw us snowed in for awhile in a magical winter landscape. The driveway got plowed early the next morning, far earlier than we were ready to drive on the snowy roads. A wonderful, magical holiday vacation for us.

Amazing property!!

Beautiful place so absolutely perfect for a large group of people. I felt like I was in the movie Grown ups with all our children able to sleep in one room, they had a blast! We had everything we needed and more! This host went above and beyond! I would 100% stay here again! We saw deer, fed chipmunks on the porch, the kids played outside the whole time, such a large space to play!

Gingerbread Cottage a Delight

My husband, son and I had a delightful stay at this property. Our adult son was thrilled to have the entire upstairs all to himself. So glad a gas grill was provided. We loved watching the wildlife in the early morning. Very comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Great house for a family trip

We stayed at the Gingerbread House with our adult children and our young grandchildren when we were in the area for a wedding. The house was family friendly with a nice play set outside and plenty of beds for all. Alison, the owner, was very responsive to all our needs. The kitchen was well stocked and the area was private. The house worked well for our group.

Fishing weekend

Terrific spot for a weekend of fishing with 5280 Anglers; 10 minutes from Bailey, 15 minutes from Boxwood Gulch. Clean, plenty of beds and room, nicely stocked with everything you need. Especially enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch. Thank you!
