"Had a lovely one night stay at this beautiful hotel which has lots of character. I paid for a larger sea view room which had been recently renovated and even had a four-poster bed which was a nice surprise. It was spotlessly clean. The communal areas are a little tired but I expected they might be given the level of investment it would take to update everywhere. Breakfast was buffet style and fairly basic but sufficient. Very friendly and helpful staff "

"The parking is very easy, you just enter you car registration on a screen in reception. The guy at reception was very proficient and friendly. The room was small, basic but very clean and comfortable. There are shops around with 2 minutes, so like Waitrose, Lidl (actually underneath the hotel), Home Bargains and even a Weatherspoons! "I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions over the last year and found it to be very comfortable, peaceful, scenic, with lovely staff and good food and also a conveniently close distance to the M4. Generally the accommodation is of a high standard of cleanliness and comfort. I was disappointed on my last visit however, to find that my booked suite had been 'upgraded'. "Clean room, but the desk lamp did not work properly as the bulb constantly flickered. Also, the wall light near the window did not work at all. We felt that these things should be checked by the cleaning staff on a daily basis as it wouldn’t take long to switch on a lamp and wall lights while dusting them. We reported the broken lights to the receptionist when we checked out the next day."

"Great location less than a mile away from the M5 and off the main road. Wonderful guy on reception who made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and tidy. We decided to go into nearby Thornbury to grab something to eat. The bed was really comfy and we had our buffet breakfast in the Marco Pierre White restaurant in the hotel which kept us full for the drive home."
