"Staff service was excellent. Breakfast buffet and menu was very good. Room size was comfortable. Area around Tavern was lively but the noise was not excessive and did not detract from sleeping. A gem of a place, and we have stayed in many but this was for the type of accomodation one of the best experiences we have had."

"The entire team at Swan Hotel was very friendly and engaged well with the guests. The restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Our superior room was large, clean and very comfortable. The hotel was an easy 30 minute walk to Jane Austen’s home and Chawton. Would highly recommend the Swan Hotel for a stay in Alton."

"As soon as we artived the owner met us and took us ti our topm. Explained the entry procedure. The room was quite basic but clean and comfortable and more than acceptable for the price of the accomodation. The only slight doenside we were led to believe there was a bar and food but it is currently being reurbushed."

I would recommend parking in the medium stay car by the car park which is free after 4pm and then at 8.30 am you can pay 5.90 for whole day and then free again after 4 and on Sundays. "We stayed at the Annex as we were looking for somewhere to quarantine in the summer, and we were simply bowled over by the fantastic hospitality offered to us by Rob & Maggie. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I couldn't count the number of times they went the extra mile for us, and never once made us feel like we were putting them out.
