For some outdoor adventures nearby, the likes of Tarn Hows, Esthwaite Water, and the shores of Windermere all await within 5 miles, giving you a good choice of lakeside loops and scenic cruises. If you're looking for something more active, nearby Grizedale Forest (2.5 miles) offers excellent mountain bike and sculpture trails, including Go Ape Grizedale for adrenaline seekers.

When it's time to call it a night, follow the cottage stairs to the first and second floors and take your pick from three restful bedrooms. The first floor hosts a master king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, as well as the well-appointed family bathroom.
