Fly-In or drive-in to enjoy this delightful Grand Lake home on popular Monkey Island. Rent a Golf Cart to be delivered to the Airport or the Home. This captivating home is located just 900 feet from the end of runway 35 of Grand Lake Regional where you can enjoy the landing and departing airplanes. Enjoy all of Monkey Islands activities and restaurants, including a 27-hole championship golf course, boat and jet ski rentals to enjoy the 1800 miles of Grand Lakes dramatic shoreline, parasailing, horseback riding, winery, and much more! All of Monkey Island is accessible by Golf Cart, we recommend renting a Golf Cart with "Monkey Around Golf Cart Rentals" (monkeyislandgolfcartrentals.com / 918-801-3795), they will deliver the golf cart to the Airport for your arrival, or the home if you drive in. You'll immediately fall in love with the aviation themed lake home with a large open living area, real stone fireplace and updated rustic kitchen. You'll have all the comforts of home, including a washer and dryer, coffee bar, double oven and dishwasher in the fully equipped kitchen. The landscaped back patio offers a propane grill, outdoor stone oven, firepit, and plenty of outdoor seating. The Master Bedroom has a king bed with walk in closet, while the upstairs bedroom features a queen bed. The open loft is great for kids with 2 convertible single beds and a Wii gaming system. All rooms have a flat screen smart TV for your enjoyment. For additional room there is a convertible couch as well. After a fun day on the island, kick back by a fire on the back patio, or watch the ongoing airshow from the front seating area. Check Six Getaways is geared towards the flying family or friends but you can certainly drive in and enjoy as well!

Great stay

My husband and I had a wonderful stay. The house is just as pictured (if not nicer) and very well appointed. Communication from the owner was great and check in and out were easy. The neighborhood is quiet and has paved roads great for walks. Lake views are nearby and access to the water is not far via car or golf cart. The owner has provided lots of information on area restaurants and activities to help with any details you may not have yet planned. We are looking forward our next visit!

Great family getaway

This is our second trip to this property. It is spacious, clean, and quiet. The property instructions are clear and easy to follow. We come and rent a boat nearby, enjoy the restaurant “Shebang” and the surrounding sites. It’s nice that we can go down the road and enjoy the lake without constant lake noise. Perfect mini vacation.

Monkeys at Grand Lake

The home is very nice and the accommodations were nice. The kitchen faucet was broken and the some of the pots and pans were not clean. The twin beds were uncomfortable. We found a bed topper, pushed the two beds together and slept on that. And that was more comfortable. We were mislead to believe this property had a golf cart from pictures. We contacted Brian and he said the description of the VBRO was 18 months old and because of insurance, he wasn’t allowed to have his guests use it. We were really counting on using it to transport our paddle boards. It was also listed as being a 3 minute walk to the lake which was false! It was a 14 1/2 minute walk to the dock and when we walked up to it, it was locked. There was no place for us to use our paddle boards, which was huge disappointment to our group! There was no legal access to the lake within walking distance from the property. The outdoor furniture was sticky, but we could still use it. The picture of the home also showed a lake view, which there wasn’t one from the home. We chose this house from the description. I would recommend that he updates the description of home so when people rent it, they know exactly what they are getting. Other than that, it was in a nice woodsy area.

Nice accommodations, Very relaxing atmosphere, and good communication with the owners. The drawback is transportation (nothing associated with the rental property). When you fly in, you have a choice of renting a taxi (From what we were told, there is only one taxi on the island) or renting golf carts, with an average rental cost of $200 per day. This can double your cost of your stay.

Monkey Island GetAway

This was our second time to stay at this cabin. We had a perfect stay again. Everything was as we had hoped. Cabin is so comfortable and has everything we needed. We had coffee (Keurig and drip coffee pot) each morning outside in the shade watching and listening to wildlife. Brian was great to respond immediately. We will be back!

Nice house, close to airport

Clean, house with everything you need. Its very close to the airport and lake, although you will still need a car or golf cart to get from where you tie down the plane. Also no gas at the airport, but landing with the numbers just past the water is always fun!

Great Little Getaway Spot

My wife and I had a great time on Monkey Island in the perfect little house. The radio listening to the CTAF was a nice touch and watching the aircraft on final from out front was fun.

Perfect Monkey Island Retreat

This is a great location and the owner of the property made check-in/out as simple as any place I’ve ever rented. Very clean, my bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of room for the six of us who stayed. I’d recommend this for two couples and kids especially. Couples could take the bedrooms and kids in loft/pullout couch. No matter what your plans are while visiting, this location is pretty central to all of it. We did not have any fly in guests so we did not have use of the golf cart but if you do fly in, I can tell you that the golf cart is a great addition on the island.
