Rockybrook Miller's cabin

  • This early 1800's miller's cabin has been lovingly restored and is ready for your relaxing getaway. Only 7 miles from Main Street Abingdon, this cozy retreat is perfectly located for family fun. Situated a few yards from the North Fork of the Holston River, you have easy access to fishing and Adventure Mendota, a local tubing outfitter. We are minutes from Bristol TN/VA and Bristol Motor Speedway. Hiking, biking, fishing and hunting are enjoyed by area residents. Local favorites include the Barter Theatre, the Martha Washington Inn, Heartwood, The Creeper Trail (including the Appalachian Trail), and a wonderful variety of local food fare. The Highlands Festival, Bristol Rhythm & Roots and many other cultural events make our area an excellent vacation destination.

    The interior of our property is the original miller's cabin built in the 1820's. In the early 1900's, the cabin was expanded and a clapboard exterior added. Master bedroom and bathroom are on the main floor. ***Please note, that the two upstairs bedroom have extremely steep steps. This adds to the uniqueness of our cabin, but could be an issue for visitors with mobility issues.

    A full kitchen will lend itself to meal preparation and entertainment. Microwave, coffee maker and all cookware are provided.

It is a beautiful place, very well taken care of with a hostess that is just as wonderful as the cabin.

Nice cabin, really traditional. It is decorated with all sorts of vintage things, yet still equipped with all modern ammenities like wifi, tvs and a fully equipped kitchen. Located by a creek, you can sip your coffee on the back porch overlooking it and its resident duck. The duck will often come up the house to ask for peas wiggling its tail from excitement when given some. The host, Regina is very kind and attentive to your needs.

We visited abingdon to see if it was a possible place to settle down. When we told our host, she was extremely helpful, welcoming, and even recommended a realtor for us! The house itself was so cozy, keeping the rustic vibes while also having all the amenities you need. Loved staying here!

Wow. What an amazing stay. This historic property was a truly unique and joyful place to spend time at. It was super cozy, well equipped, and met all of our needs. Regina was absolutely wonderful. Her communication was amongst the best of any host I have ever dealt with and I have stayed at a lot of places. Book this place with confidence and prepare yourself for a wonderful experience.

Ms. Regina is a treasure! She greeted us with a warm welcome and even baked us a homemade cake for Valentines Day. There was fresh cut flowers throughout the cabin and lavender linen spray by the bedside! The cabin itself was so clean and smelled amazing. My husband and I enjoyed a quiet and relaxing weekend and look forward to returning in the future!

Great Cabin for family stays

The property is phenomenal with the creek in the back and the cabin has so much character! I would highly recommend for families with little ones running around, they'll have a blast.

True Gem

We just could not stop talking about how wonderful this cabin is. It's full of local history, charm, comfort and beauty. Our host was very knowledgeable about the area including great places to eat and things to do. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was stocked and location was convenient.

Lovely home and host!

This is the perfect getaway home! Regina was awesome to work with and the chocolate cake was a sweet addition to our stay. We highly recommend this place and will definitely return for another visit.

This is a charming cabin by a creek. Regina is welcoming and has thought of all the extras to make this a comfortable stay. We came to Abingdon to hike the Channels Natural Area and we also enjoyed seeing Saltville and its excellent museum. We were very pleased with our stay at Rockybrook Miller’s Cabin.

My husband and I came to Abingdon to see the town and ride the creeper trail. We are so glad we chose this place! The check in process was easy and communication with the owner Regina was easy as well. I love historic places and this house was so cool to explore. She had it decorated so cute and with all the comforts of home. The bed was as comfortable as my bed at home! It’s obvious that Regina put a lot of thought into making this place comfortable and welcoming and I can’t forget to mention the homemade chocolate cake that was waiting for us when we got here. It was delicious and from an old family recipe she told us. Also there is the cutest little duck that lives in the creek behind the house that will want some treats lol. We are planning to come back when the weather’s cooler and will stay here again.

Had the absolute best stay! Regina truly goes above and beyond to ensure a perfect trip. The home itself is fantastic. If you’re looking for a quaint retreat to get away and connect with loved ones, you’d be amiss if you didn’t stay here!

Lovely

Thanks for the comfortable, homey stay. We enjoyed the deck and grill. It was so sweet of Regina to leave us a cake and this was very convenient proximity to the great channels. We recommend to other area travelers!
