The car park is located on the old road from Coimbra to Penacova (N110), just at the entrance to the village of Torres do Mondego, on the side of Coimbra. You can also type O Pioneiro Do Mondego. Instructions coming from the South (Lisbon): Exit the A1 at the exit 11 of Condeixa/Tomar. Follow the IC2/IC3 to Coimbra for 6.7 km. Cross the Rainha Santa Isabel bridge. Follow EN17, VN Poiares @ the bridge. Follow EN110, Penacova @ the roundabout of Portela. Continue for 1.1 km, the entrance gate is on your right.

Què pots esperar-ne

Després de reunir-vos amb el vostre guia al matí, us traslladarem a Penacova i us proporcionaran l'equip de caiac i algunes instruccions. A continuació, sortiu des de la presa de Carvoeira per fer una excursió amb caiac amb una longitud total de 18 km (11 milles).

Passareu en caiac per la vall natural del riu Mondego, envoltat d'extensos boscos. Mentre viatgeu riu avall, passareu pels petits pobles de Ronqueira, Rebordosa, Louredo, Foz do Caneiro i Casal.

Aquesta part del riu està plena de petites platges on podeu aturar-vos a fer un pícnic o anar a banyar-vos. A la platja fluvial de Palheiros, trobareu un petit bar on comprar un gelat o una cervesa freda.

El riu sol tenir un corrent lleuger, la qual cosa fa que el caiac sigui fàcil i accessible per a totes les edats. Finalització a Torres do Mondego, després de 3-4 hores de caiac i pauses pel camí. Es preveu arribar entre les 15.00 i les 17.00 hores.

Do not cross the river at the Rainha Santa Isabel bridge; follow Sta. Clara. At the first roundabout after the bridge take the first exit (Ceira). Turn immediately left (towards Parque Verde/Exploratorio). After the Exploratorio, the parking lot can be found next to the swimming pool.

Pass the bridge over the Mondego at ‘Ponte’ and turn to you right. Pass the village of ‘Carvoeira’. At the junction with indication 'Travasso' turn right. Reaching the river, turn to the right. Follow 200m (dirt road) to the dam.
