"The hotel and our room (No 5) were nicely styled in a modern silver-grey scheme. Our room was clean and comfortable, especially the bed. Bathroom was clean and modern too. However, 3x issues really: 1. the TV didn't work very well - aerial didn't function properly so signal & picture/sound kept cutting out; 2. bathroom door didn't shut fully; and lastly, 3. single-glazed windows meant noise from the road outside was loud. "I loved this place! Selina hotel is a bright and luminous hotel near the tidal pool of Walpole Bay in Margate, only 15min walk from the old town. Our suite was stunning - big, luminous with sea view, cosy modern decor, comfortable. The large living room, terrace, bar and restaurant space make you want to spend a holiday there. "There was no clear indication of how we accessed the property. Despite trying to communicate with the owner, there was no response. We had to just turn up and hope for the best. Check inn was quick and easy and entrance to hotel is actually separate to the adjacent pub which was great as we wasn't disturbed by any noise from the revellers on a weekend! "I love these type of B&B’s. This B&B is steeped in history built in the 18th century, On the land owned by the Spencer family, Vincent Van Gogh also lived on the square, so this is not a modern hotel if that’s what you’re looking for, it has steep stairs and smallish rooms, but is full of character, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the hospitality was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious, the pub on the corner is very friendly and only a short walk to the beach."
