"I don’t want to give it a good review because I don’t want people to know about it, but it was just amazing. Great location (walking distance from downtown Portsmouth) in a historic district. Only drawback was that it was a little too warm at night (80 degree day in May) and the thermostat couldn’t go below 67. The room was divided into two separate areas and the cool couldn’t really make it to the bedroom portion. Nevertheless, amazing place and were definitely coming back. "

"What a wonderful spot the Shaker Bear Cottage is!! We were in New London for a Colby Sawyer college reunion, and this was the most perfect place to stay. Our hosts Tom and Kem are wonderful, and their cottage is so lovely—-spotless, well appointed with anything we would need (kitchen, bathrooms) and was tradition New England decor. We loved our visit!!!"

"Very clean and easy to “self check in”. It is a nice setting too. We felt safe. The bed, for me was very hard and the pillows were more like morning pancakes. The pillows really need to be replaced. I did not sleep well. Over all a nice place. "

Location is very nice and quiet, there are a lot of trees outside which we like. The actual apartment was cozy and clean but definitely due for renovations or at least some updates. I also understand not serving food right now- however to expect guests to not eat in the comfort of their own rooms and expecting them to eat out in a common area but not serving food is a little hypocritical to be honest. The facility was nice, i liked being able to come and go as i pleased. "
