Start your journey with a scenic drive through one of Jakarta’s suburbs and lovely countryside, heading to to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, where you'll find the Museum Indonesia. This three-story museum, built in traditional Balinese architecture, houses a vast collection of Indonesian contemporary arts and crafts, traditional costumes, puppets, musical instruments, masks, and daily life utensils. This tour offers a comprehensive glimpse into Indonesia’s rich cultural tapestry.
Then, head to Bogor, 60 km south of Jakarta. Your first stop is the Bogor Botanical Garden, a world-class garden covering 85 hectares. The garden was opened by the Dutch in 1817 and has been a centre for botanical research and crop development ever since. You can also view the Presidential Summer Palace, which was once the residence of Dutch governors-general.
Next, you can immerse yourself in traditional Kampung life at the Wooden Puppet Factory, just north of the Botanical Gardens. Here, skilled craftsmen handcraft intricate puppets, showcasing the finest quality and artistic display.
