This property is a retro 1920's former apartment building. Many of the rooms have a different layout. It is really an experience to an earlier time and we very much enjoyed it. This was our second stay and we will definitely stay again. GREAT breakfast everyday. VERY walkable to the PATH train making it easy access to NYC. So much easier than Brooklyn than we experienced previously.
The hotel is a converted apartment block and is in need of refurbishment The two lifts are very small and narrow and it is a struggle to get in with heavy cases The lift at reception does not go down to the Breakfast / Gym level, that is on level 2 (for the Brits - 1st floor) Great location - very close to Journal Square Metro station There are no other hotels in this area and that is good for them There are new hotels on the waterfront, but are way more expensive
Front desk staff is very kind and friendly. Location is acceptable waking from train station.
This hotel is tired and somewhat seedy. It has. Learnt had no investment for many many years and is now run down. I can’t recommend anything about it
