Keyless in Seattle
Publicado el 30 sept. 2019 en HomeAwayThe boat itself was great....good views, clean, nicely decorated, light. However there were several issues which decreased the enjoyment of our stay. It was a constant challenge to lock & unlock the boat & to open the marina gate. Also the key we had did not open the door to the marina bathrooms. This was a problem last year when I stayed on the same boat, so it was disappointing that nothing had changed. The owners really need to give Customers a better key since cleaning people obviously get in & out all the time. When we informed the prop manager of this she told us to just pull doorknob forward & jiggle key which did not work consistently. One night we were standing in the pouring rain trying to get in until a nice person inside the gate let us in! Also the grill was disgustingly dirty & unusable. The mattress on the sleeper sofa had springs poking up through the cover & I gave up after one night & slept on top of the couch, which I could do because i’m Short, but anyone taller would have had a problem. I noticed this houseboat is for sale & i’m Wondering if the owner has given up on making sure clients are really comfortable. The key issue especially wAs very stressful since when we left we never knew if we’d be able to get back in! Too bad, because otherwise the boat was delightful. But I don’t want to go thru this again!

The houseboat made our trip to Seattle one to remember!
Publicado el 30 jul. 2019 en HomeAwayWe enjoyed our week, being rocked to sleep by the gentle movement of the boat. The location made getting around very easy and often walkable. The only tricky part was working the various locks. I would definitely recommend it!

Great little getaway!

We tried connecting to the WIFI for some music but none of us were successful. Overall, we weren't looking for internet so we just played some board games and had a blast.
The heaters worked great for those that like it toasty and the others were comfortable with the regular air. If it wasn't raining, we would have enjoyed the outdoor patio a bit more, but they really try to meet everyone's needs.
We had no issues getting in/out so we never contacted the hosts while on the boat but they were very responsive during booking and after checkout. I would highly recommend the Ginger Houseboat for any group!
